Had my purse stolen in Morrisins this afternoon - am totally gutted. Mr Woo has been buying stamps everytime he gets petrol. He didn't tell me until this morning - he presented me with £280 worth of stamps.

We decided to go this afternoon and buy the heavier stuff and extra special bits and bobs. Went to pay - my purse was gone - also about 4 dozen postage stamps - a £50 House of Fraser voucher (which I'd been saving since my birthday). Had to cancel all my cards (v inconvenient at this time of year) and it was a lovely new purse that I'd got for my birthday.

So peeeeeed off - feel so sorry for Mr Woo - really spoilt his little 'surprise'.

Oh no Soozy.  There's some right selfish b******s in this world.  Do you know if it happened in the store?  They might be able to find something on their CCTV.  It's worth an ask.

that's terrible Soozy

such a shame as Mr Woo had been consciously collecting something for you to spend and £280 is a lot of stamps to lose as well as the gift voucher   I know it's only money but it's money that some barsteward is having a laugh about snagging from some unsuspecting person.

We've had a lot of pickpockets here in Brum because of the Christmas market - there are gangs from a certain European country who have organised to pick the pockets of visitors and according to the police they're having a bumper season   You have to be so careful but the slight of hand means you don't always know you've been hit until it's too late

I asked about CCTV (I think it was stolen in the checkout area) apparently cameras not operating there. Mr Woo had put my name on the back of the cards so an alert has been put out and ar two other store locally but ......I don't hold out much hope.

I'm just fuuuuuuming.

Just to say they were very good at Morrisons ringing the bank and cc company etc. Rung the police also ............what else can you do?

Soozy Woo

Oh no Soozy I'm so sorry......... Like you say.... robbing b...ds!!!!Mr Baz auntie got hers stolen in Morrisons a couple of years ago..... they lifted out of her shopping bag..... and like you she didn't notice until she got to the till!

Baz

Oh no that is absolutely awful Soozy. I feel so sorry for you   Couldn't have happened at a worse time.

No working CCTV covering the checkout area? Whaaaat? With all the identity fraud going on nowadays, "skimming" and copying of ATM cards? Or using stolen  cheques or credit cards. Thats ridiculous

I'd tell Morrisons you'll report to the police that the security there is inadequate. Maybe they could give you a goodwill voucher. Doubt it but complain to management anyway,

They must truly have no conscience. I hope something equally as bad befalls them soon.

It would have done if I'd had got hold of them! I'm so surprised at my reaction - I was like a boxer - bouncing up and down trying to look and see who'd taken it - I'd have thrown myself kicking and ounching at em ...........all 5'2" of me  I think the staff were a bit surprised (I'm a regular there) - I'm just usually the mild mannered grandma

I had my purse stolen a couple of years ago when i was in a charity shop, i realised as soon as i had left the shop, i went back in, shut the door behind me and shouted "which robbing scumbag stole my purse" needless to say i had everyone's attention.   There was only £30+cash  in there but it was the inconvenience of cancelling cards, replacing bus pass and losing photo of my daughter.

I fully understand your anger and I don't think there is a court in the land that would have not been behind you.

Have you asked about CCTV footage?

West Bridgford store, luckily she was with a friend that could lend her the money for a taxi home as she's just had a new knee, I was in Primark last week in town and a woman in the queue was saying a woman in Argos had been robbed

I know ... she thinks she's so grown up, but what does she do as soon as she discovers it? Phones her mum and asks for help

Luckily we managed to stop everything before the thieving swines started spending
