Borrowing an old small Laptop - rather slow and awkward. Replaced the fuse in the monitor's power lead plug, plugged it into other sockets and then tried another power lead first before seeking professional help. none of this made any difference. I suspect the problem is with the on/off switch on the monitor itself. The situation is awkward just now, so getting help isn't easy.
