I sat on the stairs to do my toes It’s a sort of mink colour .....gel. I started going to the local spa for an hour a week after Mr B died .....gave me something to do , and helped me relax ....used to have a massage , facial, or my nails done ......but of course , Covid (and my ankle ) put paid to it ! I really miss it , and it (along with the hairdresser and opticians ) will be first on my list once it’s safe to do so!

Good thinking Batwoman

A spa treat sounds like a good way to spend an hour each week ....let's hope there isn't too long a waiting list

First thing I intend to do is jump on a train visit all those that I haven't seen for over a year

Sounds like a plan Slim . We ( several FMs and I )were due a spa day just before Xmas in 2019 , but it was cancelled cos a couple of them had bad colds ....we didn’t think it would be 18 months before we could rebook !

Awwww that’s lovely .  One is about 30 miles away .....the others are about 100 miles away . Yes , we have met before ....and been on other spa days . They (and other FMs) were a wonderful support during Mr Bs illness....and afterwards ...tbh I’d have been lost without them all.

Sorry to hear you had a bad start to your day.......a good walk to clear the cobwebs can be a real benefit ..Do you walk with a stick or another type of aid ...one of those wheel type things that has a seat might be a help until your ankle is strong enough....

I've not done that much today really....went out for my usual stroll...prepped dinner for later.........was up quite late walking the corridors ...so am feeling a little lethargic

Yes , the fresh air did me good ...like you say , blew away a few cobwebs .No, I don’t use a stick or anything ....thankfully I’ve not needed one yet . As for those wheelie things , I tried to use one of those when I was in ....and came home ....from hospital ....I just couldn’t get to grips with them ....nearly broke my neck ....and anyway , they are useless on carpets . When I was non weight bearing for 6/8 weeks I used to scoot around the house on Mr Bs commode ....just call me Stirling moss Sorry you didn’t sleep very well .

Hahaha that just reminded me of when My eldest boy used to shuffle about on his potty...when he finally got up he'd have a red ring circling his backside

*wonders if Baz had one too*

Luckily the commode had a proper seat /cover ....so I just removed the potty bit and used it like a chair on wheels .It actually worked quite well , because I couldn’t get up the stairs for weeks , so had to wash in the kitchen sink . I used to wheel /scoot myself into the kitchen , and then I could sit at the sink to wash my hair etc .

It was a case of having to Slim . A friend and her daughter came in once a day for 3/4 weeks ....just to sort anything that I couldn’t , but basically I was on my own from the get go .....
