I’m afraid onion ....along with garlic ...is a no no for me these days ....but up to about 5 years ago I’d have bitten your hand off Slim . I’ve just had lamb chops for my lunch , so I’m stuffed anyway .

Yes, it’s very restrictive .....I’m just glad that I didn’t develop it until a couple of years ago .....I think it was brought on by two lots of  strong antibiotics I had a month before I first started having problems!

Glad you had a reasonable night . Must be lovely having a river to walk along ....and Lol at your dad .

Baz

No, not really, not even on days when you couldn't go out because you were waiting for workmen or such.

These lockdowns can make one feel claustrophobic....I definitely need my walks along the river cos I get that stir crazy feeling when I don't

Yeah, think I will have to get out for a walk a bit more often.

I retired from work on 31st August 2019, so probably wouldn't have done much in 2020 WITHOUT a pandemic lockdown, than I did in 2020 WITH the pandemic lockdown. The main difference would have been that I'd have visited my sisters in Dorset. So given that, the restrictive effects of the lockdown are probably only now begining to filter through to me. Also having a large house and garden probably helped stave off any effects for a bit longer.

Hopefully it won't be long now before we can be free spirits again.

Fingers crossed Slim ....I’ll be happy just to be able to go to town .

Whatever floats your boat .....I hate shopping & crowds.... I do however like to do lunch with friends occasionally

Just being able to take off to wherever, whenever I want is what I miss most! A year is a long time to some of the folk I will be visiting as soon as this pandemic is allows

My town is quite small .....but it’s about 3/4 miles away , so can’t walk there ....at least any more. But I used to hop on a bus if I was having a down day ....just getting out of the house helped with the grief .....as did my weekly hour at a local spa for a massage , or facial .....and I’ve really missed them both this last year . ....anything to take the edge off , if only for a short while .

As things have turned out it is almost two years since I was there. (March/April 2019)

I was intending to go again in September/October 2019, but a chickenpox epidemic broke out down there and as I haven't had chickenpox it was agreed that it would be in my best interests to skip the autumn 2019 visit.

This didn't pose any problems at the time as it just meant a few months and it would be time for the March/April 2020 visit. Little did we know that not only would there not be a spring 2020 visit, but no autumn 2020 visit either, nor spring 2021 visit. And currently, no certainty of an autumn 2021 visit either!

Now that I'm no longer having to worry about booking annual leave, I should be able to visit soon after travel restrictions are lifted enough, but who knows when that will be. Especially as Scottish and English rules could still sighificantly differ!

A few minutes standing at the open door with the breeze/wind/gale blowing in was sufficing for most days during winter (especially when there was a significant amount of snow), but now that the weather is a wee bit better, I need to get out for a proper walk. A few rounds of the patio (35' x 22') is not really enough on a permanent basis.

No....

I can totally understand you not wanting to venture out in winter, living with the Sottish weather.......I was up there a few years back...it was fecking freezing! My home is  near the English Riviera....we prefer it warm down here
