I think he was just desperate to find me a present and I'd been harping on for years about going on a cruise, so he had a lightbulb moment.

We had an insurance policy mature, so he decided to spend some of it. The credit card should be OK.....but I did buy lots of stuff while I was away, so he'll have that to wince at when the bank statement arrives
