hi bagabones. glad you made it over at last! here have this dog chew! god knows what it's made from? looks like leather but 'pets at home' assured me you would like it. i have never had a d.o.g. myself although my grandmother had a guide dog called quartz.
I, like Belle, am not all that fond of bones, but it was very nice of you to offer. And anyway I think you will need all the bones you can get, to help you recover from your ordeal.quote:Originally posted by Bagabones:
Big thanks Fluffy! I thought they were not going to allow little puppy dogs in. Would you like a lick of my bone? When I find it of course.
*Gives Bagabones a big cuddle and some nice healthy D.O.G. chews.
If I remember rightly, there's one in the fridge as well as some more D.O.G. treats. I think there's another bone somewhere else too, but I'm not quite sure where? We're all still trying to get fully oriented.quote:Originally posted by Bagabones:

on the monday after the barbecue the big man had to go to work but I stayed home with aunty pet.
it was quite interesting because two men came to take up some floorboards and play with some wires underneath.
aunty pet kept making them big mugs of tea. Iâve never seen humans drink so much tea as that before â even the lady in skwolla didnât drink so much tea.
anyway these two men did a lot of hammering and banging which I didnât like.
i went upstairs and hid while that was going on.
when it went a bit quieter I crept downstairs to inspect what they were doing.
they had made a hole in the floorboards and were doing something with wires inside the hole.
i had a look into the hole and they laughed at me and stroked me.
aunty pet said âsheâs just making sure you do a good jobâ. and I was of course.
it looked really interesting down the hole and so, when the two men were drinking another mug of tea I jumped in to have a look round.
it was dark in there and spidery and rather dirty.
it all went on a long way right under the floor. i crept quite a long way. i thought i might find a little mouse but i didnât.
i heard the men walking about above my head. then it went very, very dark and there was a lot more hammering.
the two men had covered the hole up and i couldnât get out.
i didnât know what to do.
i knew aunty pet would wonder where i was but i
i meowed as loud as I could. i even surprised myself with how loud I could meow.
i think aunty pet must have heard me because i heard her asking the men if theyâd seen me.
they said they hadnât, so i meowed again at the top of my voice (it was more like a howl really) and I heard one of the men say âthat cooking fat is under the floorboards!â â Or something a bit like that anyway.
they had to take all the nails out again and uncover the hole so i could get out.
aunty pet said it didnât look like me because my fur was covered in dust and cobwebs.
she brushed me and then I licked myself clean.
aunty pet wasnât cross even though she said sheâd had to give the men extra money because of the trouble iâd caused.

i'm here!
i had a lie in this morning.
i'll carry on with my diary now.
i'm almost up to the part where big tom cat arrives.
hi tlc!!! i've just arrived to see you too
14.08.08.
i've been out in the garden again but i'm biding my time about getting under the fence again.
aunty pet puts bread out for the birds every morning and i love to sit and watch them.
aunty pet says i've not to chase them or catch them but it's very hard not to.
there's a robin here who is REALLY chancing his luck with me! one day i'm going to forget myself and jump on him.
every time he comes close i have to make chattering noises at him to warn him he is playing with fire and i am a cat to be reckoned with.

i can't get used to that catflap thing.
i like to be able to see properly what i'm going out into before i actually go.
i don't like stepping out into the unknown.
anyway i have trained aunty pet to fix the cat flap so that it's held open on a big piece of elastic when i want to go out.
then i can sit inside safely and poke my head through the opening and have a really good look round before i go.
the trouble is that there is a really big fierce cat living next-door-but-one.
he's called woodstock and he sometimes comes into aunty pet's garden and he chases me.
I donât like to go out when heâs around.

This is where mr tom arrives. i'm going to put his words in green so you don't get mixed up with mine.

the arrival of big tom cat
âHello Little Cat
I am a big tom cat but I am a gentle giant so dont worry.
I have been reading your adventures and you are well travelled.
I too had problems finding a human pet. I was abandoned as a kitten and taken in by a big house full of other cats in cages.
I was sooo scared but was rescued by a nice old lady, but she didnt last very long.
One day she went to sleep and didn't wake up. I was scared again as I was alone for days without food.
I was found eventually and went back to the cat house.
I was there for ages and was worried the human there would take me into THE BIG ROOM where cats don't come out of.
One day a man came in and he smelled nice and had a kind smile.
he took me home and we are now best pals.
he is so easy to train and doesn't mind me jumping all over him and is patient when I get scared.
There are other cats near his house and we have a laugh. I am using his PC now while he is out with a female human pet....tee hee.
he left me some nice yummy food though and a big bowl of water.
I try not to wee on his carpet....

I'm afraid I wasn't at all friendly to mr tom at first.
he is so very big you know - and i was very scared.
i didn't say anything to him but this is what i did......
16.08.08
*arches back*
*raises fur along back*
*makes tail resemble a bottle brush*
*turns sideways in attempt to look bigger*
*emits low threatening growl*
*flattens ears*
*backs away very, VERY slowly*

mr tom went away after that and i talked to mrs belle about him. she had no idea where he had come from either.....
this is what i said to mrs belle........
he seems to have gone away now.
I think I frightened him off with my bottle-brush tail.
I told you I was a cat to be reckoned with.
I wonder if he'll come back.
Perhaps he wasn't so scary after all.
i'll try and call him back....
BIG TOM!
BIG TOM!
Where did you go to?
I'm sorry I was so unfriendly, only i've never seen such a big boy as you before.
Come back and tell me more about yourself.
no he's really gone.
i didn't mean to frighten him THAT much!
he's not been anywhere else either though. he's only ever made that one post.

never seen such heckles!
I have been to the V.E.T when I was in the cat house and I slept for ages afterwards...dont know what they did but I never wanted to do strange things with the pillows after that...strange.
You seemed such a lovely little cat I was taken aback by your growl. I did say I was a gentle giant didnt I?
*waggles tail in a friendly gesture and cleans paws purring*
My human pet does feed me well but I am parshall to the odd treat and ALL cats like being tickled under the chin.
Little Cat if you want to be friends we can go and chase the butterflies in the field behind my house.

oh yes tlc. it was quite scarey for you at first, but you seem to have become very good friends now!!
I used to have a big tom, he was ginger, he was adorable, sadly he passed away age 14, however, he didn't have a sad life, he was a truly pampered puss, and always had his head in the shopping bags looking for his prawns, which I used to buy him once a week
he had me very well trained indeed
I didn't like it though when he left me headless mice on the doorstep
I suppose it was his way of thanking me for his prawns

i think it was very generous of him.
i'm sure that if you had told him you didn't like headless mice left on your doorstep he'd have left the heads on for you.
i can understand you wanting them with the heads on though.
i think the heads are the tastiest part too.
anyway .... on with my story...............
this next bit has a lot of different people talking so i'm going to put them in different colours.
later

I'm glad you're back Big Tom.
I'm still a little bit worried about you though.
Just stand still while I slowly creep forward and sniff you.
*sniff sniff*
I think we could be friends.
As long as you don't make any sudden movements for a while.
Would you like to have a play with my special feather? You can't keep it of course but you can play with it for a while if you want.
Then I'll come and chase butterflies with you.
quote:Originally posted by Big Tom Cat:

There you go, told you I am gentle.
*purrs*
Your feather is brilliant, I will play with it but dont worry I will look after it. You will get it back in purrrfect condition.
I do hope we can be friends. My human pet is great but he cant chase butterflies for toffee, and doesn take nearly enough naps!
I will wait for you in the long grass of the field. I have trampled down a big circle so I can lie and nap with no one able to be me. The sun comes and goes today, I think it is unsure if it wants to come out. *yawn* time for na 3rd afternoon nap, need to save my strengh for chasing and dinner later.....quote:Originally posted by The Little Cat:
I'll be there big Tom. I'm glad we're going to be friends.
Will you be my minder and protect me from that fierce cat, called woodstock, who keeps chasing me?
You are a lot bigger than he is but not as fierce.quote:

*groooooooooowwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwlllll*
See. Dont be scared!
I enjoyed our butterfly hunt earlier and a BIG meeow to Beerbelle for the prawns...they was very nice thank you...quote:Originally posted by Evolution 2.0:
aww......
* wonders if there will be any kittens soon:quote:Originally posted by BeerBelle:
Judging by their respective vet stories i think that would be quite unlikely

Kittens ???????
Big Tom and me are just friends. Big Tom says it is a "play tonic" friendship because he isn't quite the cat he was.
I think he means we will play together and that will be a tonic for him.quote:Originally posted by Big Tom Cat:
Don't Kittens come from the Cat House?? That's where I came from when I was a kitten. The older cats told me that a big man with a bushy white beard brings the kittens to the mummy cats who looks after them until a Human pet can be found.
Tis true!
I like Little Cat cos she likes to play tonic with me in the field and I try not to scare her too much cos I am a Big Cat.
today my yuman has some dates. Apparently he is hoping to share these with a female yuman and get his end away...
dont know if the dates have ends or where he puts them, but he has told me to be on my bestest behaviour tonight, so I have groomed myself...it took ages and have tired myself out now, time for afternoon nap number 6....quote:originally posted by The Little Cat:
oh dates. they are those horrible squishy smelly fruits people eat. yuk. i like meat and fish and prawns.
oh and if anyone wants to put extra things in my fridge they are more than welcome. there's of us cats now, and aunty pet only gives me cat food from a tin or a packet.
how am i meant to get all my nutrients with readymeals.

well, after all that introduction i cuddled up next to mr tom and we had a little nap. when we woke up mr tom suggested that we went out on the tiles.
It was very good fun but hardwork you know.
and we saw Woodstock and I got right next to mr tom and he bushed his tail up and stared right back at woodstock . it was VERY IMPRESSIVE!
(i was actually a little scared myself, but don't tell mr. tom - I call him that now because I "totally respect him".)
So I think Woodstock has got the measure of us new kids in town now!

i have spent the whole afternoon sitting on aunty pets table. she was "doing the books" and i was being helpful.
i think she appreciated it. she kept wiggling her pen so that i could paw at it, and she had a very interesting dangly bit on her cardigan that i enjoyed playing with too.
she was definitely testing my loyalty, because she kept trying to distract me with ping pong balls and things, but i said "no aunty pet, i was out all night on an adventure, it is only fair that i stay and help you".
i am not sure she understood because she told me not to "cat a wall", but i was no where near the wall???
anyway; i can't wait for next time mr tom comes by. he has some really good ideas for things to do!

iâm really excited today.
leroy has come to stay the night with aunty pet. his dad brought him round because leroyâs dad has got a date tonight.
(these humans must be very fond of those nasty little sweet, sticky, brown, date things.)
i just canât understand why leroy had to be sent off to aunty petâs though just because his dad wanted to eat a date.
itâs a mystery.
i think it must be a really HUGE date though because i heard aunty pet say that leroyâs dad was hoping to get his leg over â and heâs got quite long legs.
as Iâve said before Iâll never understand these humans.
anyway, leroy is here and heâs going to stay the night.

i've got to tell you what happened last night.
well, i was so happy because leroy came round for tea.
he came to see me straight away and picked me up and gave me a big hug (it was quite squashy so i jumped off). and of course i pretended i wasnât bothered about seeing him, but i was VERY pleased.
anyway the strangest thing happened after tea. leroy got a pen out of his jeans pocket and i thought he was going to âdo the booksâ like aunty pet did. but no sooner had he got it out, than i saw the strangest, brightest red dot on the kitchen floor.
well, i said to leroy, i am sorry, but i have to sort this little red dot out.
i have never seen the like before.
i crouched on the lino, and pounced on it.
well, this dot was good.
it just flitted out the way, just out of reach. so i bided my time and pounced again. but the red dot jumped up onto the cupboard door!! again, all sleuth-like, i crouched and jumped up to the handle, but it was gone.
i sniffed around, but i couldnât smell it. i turned round and there it was on the floor again.
anyway, by this time i thought, stealth is not gonna get this little red dot. i am going to have to out run it. so i chased it round in a little circle quicker and quicker until my tail was wrapped around me like supermanâs cloak, and i was quite worn out.
then the dot disappeared.
leroy and aunty pet were laughing at something. i donât think they realised the serious nature of the dot.
maybe they didnât notice it, but i was in no position to see what they were laughing at.
i had serious do hunting to do.
leroy left then. he gave me a nice stroke, and i just sat in the corner next to the washing machine and waited for a good half hour, but it seems i have scared the little red dot off. i am going to keep my eye out for that kind of thing again. you never want to be caught off guard by a red dot, i can tell you mr tom!
