Re the joke in the OP:
When I saw the film, the last line got a lot of laughs, but I couldn't help wondering how many of the audience got the hidden reference there...
(For those who don't know: George VI had lung cancer in his later years, and it was a major contributory factor in his death.)


As for the film itself: yes, I thought it was very good and would recommend it to anyone. Although Firth's getting all the praise, the whole cast are great: I thought Michael Gambon as George V and Guy Pearce as Edward VIII were both surprisingly strong...
