I can't find the original thread on m'phone. Isn't it great though? Best thing on the box! Does anyone know how the couple did on that Lottery quiz though? We had to switch over.

They get 2,000 - wrong answer on the last question. Could have been 100,000
Thanks jonesy!!
You're all talking forrin. *grumps* Bloody telly and stuff.
Grange Hill, Zammo era, now that's telly I know.

It is indeed foreign leccy. A 20 episode murder mystery in Danish MIT subtitles!
BTW! I noticed one or two grammatical mistakes in the Danish dialogue, but they let it go and so shall I.
Yer divvn't need subtitles if it's Danish. We're all vikings anyway.
'Specially you lot.

Yep, lots of twists and turns. Recorded them all but I've only just caught up to the current episode. Can't guess what else is going to be thrown in to get to episode 20 though.
I tend to find having subtitles forces my full attention rather than faffing around on the PC and losing the plot a bit, as I can sometimes do with TV.

Did anyone notice that Peter Barlow was the first prime suspect?

Missed Saturday night's episodes but will catch up via the wondrous device that is the BBC's i-player
It's brilliant stuff and I've heard that there are more series in the pipeline

Obviously one had to switch over from the lottery prog. Does anyone know how much they won? Meanwhile ........ Isn't it great?
ÂĢ75,000 if I remember correctly. TBH - the whole games a tad too confusing for my little brain

I've managed to watch it up to episode 12 on the I player. It's absolutely brilliant. I can't wait for the next episode. I love the characters and the acting and the storyline really keeps you guessing.
If anyone wants something intelligent and absorbing to watch have a go at this on the I player - you'll be hooked.

Afternoon Avalon xx
It doesn't look good for him does it? I think he is being set up though. I really like the female detective character, I think it's well played how she has to juggle being a single mum and all the pressures on her time.
Her mother is a pain though

Hi, Veggie. I hope all is well with you.
I think he's being set up, too. Unless he's setting everything up so it appears that he's been set up, if you know what I mean.
Lund is an excellent character and she's getting a fair bit of wear out of that jumper, too.
There are some brilliant acting performances all round and some of the scenes with Nanna's parents are heartbreaking. (Especially last night's episodes).

I'm good thanks hun, hope you are too.
I know what you mean about that jumper I find myself on Jumper watch at least three times an episode.
This programme is one of the best I've seen in ages, such a shame that the Beeb didn't have the courage to put it on one of the main channels where it might have had a bigger audience

I've just watched the latest two episodes on I player and I can confirm that there was a black jumper with white patterns at one stage before reverting to the usual black designs on white chunky thing!
Has anyone noticed the huge amount of smoking that goes on? They seem to smoke in offices and cafes etc etc.

Lol! Yes, I noticed that too Veggieburger. It must've been made before the European smoking ban?.I love the Killing so much I couldn't wait for BBC pace and watched to the end of the series elsewhere. I've just started series 2, I'm addicted to it.

Its really gripping isn't it Veggieburger?. Yep, BBC have bought series 2, it'll be shown later this year.
Its also great to hear they're filming a third series, thanks Avalon Moonlight

Thanks for that. I wasn't sure there had been follow-up series but I thought there might be seeing as it was made back in 2007. Its also great to hear they're filming a third series, thanks Avalon Moonlight
I've deliberately avoided doing any searches on "The Killing" because I've been petrified that I might stumble upon any spoilers! My usual fear of spoilers has been compounded because I've been out most Saturdays and have had to record most of the show. Last Saturday's double-bill was the first time I've been able to watch this series "live"...
I regret not having watched this. I hope to be able to make amends.
The prospect of a new series is nice.
It seems to have been universally acclaimed - even by people who have a reputation for being hard to please.

You're much better off sticking with the BBC... the subtitles are excellent...
I watched ahead, on another site, but it wasn't so great...some really wonky subtitles .... I mostly relied on the pictures to know what was going on

Thanks for the heads up about series 2 and 3 - can't wait. Just hope they will be to the same high standard as this series.
Brisket - I have watched up to episode 14 on the BBC I player over the past few weeks and caught up, why don't you have a go at doing it that way, they still have all the episodes on there

Veggieburger...wait til series 2 Sara Lund got this gorgeous red jumper...the best so far, I want it!

It does make me want to visit Denmark actually. Gotta love a country that doesn't think it's too trendy to wear a jumper when it's cold

Icelandic jumpers rock!... well... if you're as good looking as Sophie Grabol they do
I do hope that the Beeb do a trawl through Europe and find some more quality stuff. I think that we can all cope with subtitles!

There's been a definite move in that direction on BBC4 over the last few years.Did you see "Spiral" (English title for "Engrenages"), the French crime thriller? Fingers crossed that they'll be showing the 3rd series...
And of course the BBC have been showing the original Swedish series of "Wallander" as well as the Kenneth Branagh remakes...
We watched all of the Wallander episodes. However I was reading a recent article in T'Grauniad which mentioned various others which alas, passed us by!
I quite agree, the European crime stuff on BBC4 has been a revelation. I missed a chunk of Spiral due to it being aired at a time of year when my Freeview reception was shot to pieces. Wallander has been the most impressive series to me but I've not been overly impressed with "The Girl with Dragon Tattoo" and its sequel - although they have their unique style.

I don't have a set top box so have to watch BBC4 progs on the I player. I must keep more of an eye on it as that Spiral sounds good as well. Hope they will repeat it.

Did anyone manage to catch this one? Unfortunately, I missed it but hope that BBC 4 will repeat it. I'm learning Italian at the moment so it will be great for practicing the pronunciation etc.
