I suppose it takes an outgoing person to enter Big Brother. Perhaps someone with lots of confidence. Perhaps somebody who is wise and self-aware.
Yet this is so often what we do not get.
But in every series there has been a bossy-boots - a cocky one - a know-it-all -
a leader - a loudmouth - a power-seeker.
Worst of all - an EXPERT!
Have you noticed how often the experts are deluded? How often the experts get it wrong.
In the last series we had Siavash who attempted to come across as the expert and yet proved to be very wrong very often.
Here we have Vinnie, who uses a somewhat intimidating method.
But worse we have Stephen. Who declaims his every statement with force and volume.
His oratory is dramatic.
His worldly experience and wisdom are untouchable.
And yet - he is wrong. He is so often wrong, wrong, wrong.
Going right back to the first series of Big Brother years ago and coming to the present day who do you think of as the house "expert"? (And were they an expert? Or were they wrong?)
