The lurvvve boat may be stretching it a bit. We don't get many men around these here parts.
Are you good at sharing?
Hi Rossy. You seem to get more than your fair share of snaffly welcomes.

Ahem, well no, admittedly the men are a bit thin on the ground - but the ones that are here are very enthusiastic

Helloooo Ducky, Scatts, Ros.... Charli , not sure if we've met.. but Hi!
Ducky... I took the flowers (they were dead nice... modern.. lime greens, oranges, reds, bright pink etc) and a card.
Gave them to the secretary in the office, who offered to get his teacher, but I said no. However, secretary knew of all the issues, and was v enthusiastic about the flowers (& son's school placement). She also said what you said... makes a sometimes difficult job worthwhile.
So thanks Ducky.
Twas a shame my son was outside the heads office at the time, with another boy.... (they had got into a heated debate about football teams!). Cheeky monkey waved at me... and nearly came over to have a moan about his current plight... but I avoided eye contact!
I had a right go at him this evening! Talk about bad timing!

PMSL Ditty Football has a lot to answer for.
Hmmm, he tried to blame it on football too. Not having it... only he allowed himself to be wound up!
(besides... I think the other kid had a point... I think Ipswich probably are better than Colchester Utd!)

LOL.. yes, its a village primary. The two boys were 'shouldering' each other outside the heads door as I walked in... both stopped and jaws dropped when they saw me walk in. I think my boy thought I'd been called up to school about it!

Aww bless him - will his next school be bgger in september?? - Always feel sorry for the new year 7's- it is such a culture shock changing schools
Yes Ros... he goes to secondary, or should have been a secondary in sept.
Was part of the reason we took flowers up for his teacher. We didn't get ANY of our 4 choices of secondary schools (even though they are the 4 closest). And out of the blue we were allocated the WORST school in our area. Not only on special measures and failing... but right in the middle of loads of junkies, crack houses, crime hotspot central!!!
We were going through 3 appeals. But his class teacher (who is a total star) had been phoning around on an almost daily basis (unbeknown to us)... and got hold of us last week to say there were spaces at a really good school in the neighbouring county.
He now has a place there. It is actually a High School.. so yrs 8 & 9 are quite small.. as they then take in the middle school at yr10.
The stress of the past few months has been horrendous... I had even had to consider home schooling in sept until something acceptable came up. We weren't being that fussy... league tables went out of the window... but the school they originally allocated was not an option.

My daughter had done well in the 11+, so she went to the Grammar School. My boy didn't make it in though (and I'm not sure it would have been right for him anyway)
