I love Cartagena and Almeria too. I remember when I was driving down the motorway...when you saw the statue at Murcia, you were almost there

Yes on Wednesday. Crying It will just be a holiday home for a while. I'm just trying to think which Statue you mean? I don't often go through Murcia that way, and there is one on the other side as well, where they have just widened the road and all the trucks used to crash... and spill oranges, potatoes and the such like all by the side of the road. (guess that's why they widened it... it straightened it out a bit too.)

About time they did that...the road used to be lethal I mean the big statue of Christ on the hill...on the left, coming from the aiport at Alicante

The ones on Facebook are the funniest cos they often ask me if I want to learn English???

They keep telling me that I'm 48 next birthday. Do they have to remind me? Mad

HaHa that's the one I was thinking of but I was thinking you were coming at it for the other side. From Almeria to Murcia. I can skip that bit now, as they've finished the RM2 and RM3 and I can shortcut cross country and bypass Murcia to get to my Sister's now. .. Haven't been to Murcia city itself for ages....

When we used to go Van, we could fly into either Almeria or Alicante airports and picked up a car at whichever. Almeria was the handiest but Alicante used to have more flights at the time. When we go to Spain these days we usually go North, nearer to Valencia...away from all the English tourists(lol). I drove through Benidorm once...EEeeeeeeeeek!

I fly to and from San Javier, which is 15 mins away. And I know what you mean about the English tourists... I'm close enough that I can go and look at the wildlife but far enough away that they'll never find me. LOL.. I live in a complex of 24 houses in the middle of town and I'm the only English, but there are quiet a few spread around town. (English that is). But it's all people who live here and for the most part integrate with the Spanish.

Arghhhhhhhhhhhhh! Mad

Hubby just taken the bike out for a test drive, having put a temporary repair on the puncture.

Have just had a call from him.... his battery is now dead... I have to go out and jump start him!

This is driving me up the bliddy wall... for the past two years, everytime he goes out on the bike I expect this kind of call... and half the time I get one!!

I will be back!!!!

I hope I don't accidently rev the engine too soon! Ninja

St Javier wasn't open when we were there, so it was one or the other of those two airports. It sounds really nice where you are Van, just the way I like it...I would hate to be in one of those ex pat Ghettoes like La Marina...just like being on a British housing estate
