Poor Ditty. Hope the problem is sorted.

Charli have you been to New York?

Hi Tates. Valentine Sorry I missed you last night. I de-camped to msn as the ship seemed abandoned. Valentine

That's ok Ducky. I was late getting here.

Did you enjoy NY Charli? Don't know how I missed your homecoming.

Me too! Eeker I'm lucky if I can find the task manager. Laugh

Which reminds me...... Ditty, Charli, and any other secret techies onboard.....

The whole time I'm on the forum I'm using windows media player to listen to music, and I have the controls on the task bar. On a previous laptop I had problems with it. It would work fine for a while then ever so often at the end of a song the whole task bar would freeze and I'd have to restart the laptop to get it back.

Last night it happened again on my new laptop. Frowner

Any ideas? Except for the obvious one of not putting the controls in the task bar. Is there any way I can sort it through task manager without having to re-start?

You are so going to regret sounding knowledgable in front of us lot Ditty. Laugh

I always tell the kids... the only REAL way to learn about computers, is to totally **** one up, and have to try and mend it!

I am a habitual button pusher.... and have no patience! Have caused fatal errors on a couple of friends pc's in the past... and had to put em back together again!

Curiosity.. kills the pc! (sometimes!) Big Grin

I am crap at hands off tech support Ducky.... (am a not good at 'teaching')... I'd have to have a button pressing frenzy!

You could try using a different media player... its sounding like a microsoft conflict.

Also... if you're using Vista.. then I can't help! I hate Vista with a passion... and I don't know my way round it... I went back to XP on this laptop!

Thanks Ditty Hug

I've decided to resist button pressing for now and wait and see whether it's going to be a regular problem first.

I have the added problem on this lappy that as it's my work one I don't have any admin privileges under my user name (although I have hacked the password on the admin account.... cos as far as I see it I'm a bleedin adult and can be trusted to choose whatever settings I damn well like Mad Laugh )

I'm not looking forward to the day when something goes horribly wrong and I have to take it into work to be fixed and they notice their password doesn't work. Ninja

Laugh *bets the password was either admin or password!!*

If you don't have admin privileges then you're always gonna be limited in what you can do!

Re: them noticing the password has been changed... the shame is theirs Ducky.... for not making it secure! (best line of defense is attack! Nod )

Yorkshire Day.... I was born and raised in Yorkshire, always intended to move back there... but then started breeding and couldn't escape from Essex!

Wanted to post my "home" sentiment! (I do it, finger raised, whenever Yorkshire is on the telly).

Hubby and kids won't entertain the idea of moving back up North Frowner
