I remember I downloaded something for firefox to block ads when we were on C4 because they were getting in the way. It worked really well.... I don't have it since I've swapped laptops but I'll try and find out what it's called.

Tayto, there's an add-on called "Adblock Plus". If you install this, and get the URL of the offending ad, then your problem's solved

I'm downloading it now so I might work it out myself.

It's easier once you have Adblock. If you right-click on the offending ad, there should be an option called "Adblock image"

Popped in to say I am back!

Got back yesterday but was still very very poorly..... I got horribly horribly drunk at the wedding..... it seemed necessary at the time! (Polish weddings.... they put bottles of vodka on the table and insist you drink neat shots.... apparently I did a bottle!.,... have had to promise hubby I will never ever drink like that again... I still feel shit!)
