I have just been on a 4 hour shopping trip from hell!!!

Its my baby brother in laws wedding this weekend... we fly out to Gdansk (sp) tomorrow night... so I'd left it a bit late!

I don't think Debenhams has ever seen prom dresses flying out of their changing rooms accompanied by profanities and cursing before! Big Grin I just wanted a bloody dress... they had LOADS of dresses... if I wanted to look like an extra from High School Musical... or other end of the scale... my Nana in a caftan!!!!

The changing rooms were hot and sweaty & smelled of BO and feet!

And.... I have ended up breaking a marraige vow... I bought a PASHMINA (husband has a pashmina phobia.... so I am calling it a wrap! Big Grin )

Ended up getting a skirt, a bag, a 'wrap', a fascinator.... got to get shoes and a top tomorrow!

I HATE SHOPPING FOR STUFF I DON'T REALLY WANT OR LIKE!!!!
Dirtyprettygirlthing
LOL! I kept asking myself all day.... 'do I not like to shop then?'.... girls are meant to love shopping...

I DO love to shop... when I have money, and when I am buying stuff I LIKE AND WANT!

I hate, hate, hate, buying wedding outfits. Really really hate it!

Big Grin

And am not sure what to expect in Poland either... my impression of Poland is a bit.... grey, with stew... lots of stew!

Re Poland wonderers:

It's a really weird country. It's totally different in one end to the other. When we entered we went along the Hitler Highway which made me feel like I was going into a really deprived country. Then you go through all the Communist parts which made me feel depressed as hell, it's all grey and no one has a smile on their face. Then there's a massive bridge and loads of castle style buildings in the background and you go back a few 100 years to fairytale style times, loads of leafy trees, old buildings with loads of character. The part I was in (Krakow) does horse and cart rides and has this wonderful square where people gather and watch people entertaining and just all get on with each other and tons of designer fashion shops.

I think it depends on what part you're going to to how it is.

All the food is wrong though apart from sauerkraut. And most of the people are a bit intimidating Ninja

There are some really really rank things in the shops.... and alot of flowy see through stuff too!

And cheap knitwear seems to be a current theme! Big Grin

I did see some shoes TO DIE FOR! Unfortunately, that having been my philosophy towards shoes in my younger years... I am no longer able to wear such gorgeous, jaw droppingly pretty shoes (Ted Baker gave me a bunion!! Crying )

But these.... well look...

I did actually ponder whether they would be worth me spending the rest of my life in a mobility scooter, for one night with these babies! Big Grin

DITTY I HAVE THOSE!!

I have them but they've just got sides and no bit across the front. They're beautiful aren't they!

Mobility scooter is definitely worth it! My friend got me mine for Christmas and she bought them in a 6 and I don't have the heart to say they're too small so I suffer in them, they're worth it.

It's a really weird country. Figures.... the bride is a sandwich short of a picnic!

It's totally different in one end to the other. When we entered we went along the Hitler Highway which made me feel like I was going into a really deprived country.I am going to feel deprived.... what with Bridezilla and MY BLOODY MOTHER IN LAW WILL BE THERE!

Then you go through all the Communist parts which made me feel depressed as hell, it's all grey and no one has a smile on their face. THats spooky... thats how I imagine it... in black and white.. with hairy chinned women in headscarfs crying!

I am going to Gdansk.... all I know about Gdansk is that Letvow, Letvowes... ah bollocks... you know the bloke I mean... big in the 80's... he came from there!

I think it depends on what part you're going to to how it is.

All the food is wrong though apart from sauerkraut. I am expecting slop and more slop at the wedding meal... apparently there is an abnormal amount of KFC's about though!

And most of the people are a bit intimidating Ninja HA! HA! You've met my sister in law to be then! She don't scare me! Mother in law does though... I am hoping the pair of them 'bond'!

Don't do it Mary!!! Honest don't! I have a pair of Ted Baker boots.... that are just so fab they should be put on an alter and prayed to!

But... they define the term 'killer heels'. But, I had to wear them... so I did. And now my high heel days are over for ever! Frowner

According to google, Gdansk is pretty close to Krakow so you'll be in the nice area.

And erm for the food *remembers fond memories of ham soup with great hunks of egg in, mushroom soup layered in oil with cheese slices hidden at the bottom, everything cheese based and sauce filled/covered*

The apples however were half the size of my head pretty much. You could eat one and be full for the rest of the day, so if you hate everything else, just ask for an apple.
