My dad took him to a couple of shops (TKMaxx and one that my brother described as a large Woolworths) and we're going to a restaurant later on this week (not that it can be called a restaurant in my opinion ).

I think I teach Calculus. I'm assuming it means the same thing in the US as it does here? We don't use that name in schools for some reason. Do you mean integration/differentiation? That sort of stuff?

When I was taught it myself we used graphic calculators.... but we don't use them at the school I'm in now.

I can be taught without them quite easily if the student has a good grasp of functions and their graphs, but if not the graphic calculators are very helpful. Our students just aren't told to buy one. I'm not sure why? Maybe it's because there is such easy access to computers in schools these days?
