St Helier 

Dad joined the merchant Navy but not at the beginning  of the war - too young his older brother got killed and his name is on Tower hill in London - he drowned at sea. My dads older cousin was killed. My uncles were in the army - mum was too young

AwwwwMy aunts fiancée was killed ....but apart from that everyone survived

yes my Gran never got over it TBh - he was only 20 and replaced someone who was ill - she kept hoping he was a POW

I think I’d have kept my head down.....unless they annoyed me ...then I’m sure my Leo would have taken over 

I'd have kept my head down and waited until the war was over....risk averse,that's me😂

glad the did bazzy -yes it did have an effect  - Gran never really recovered from it my dad was quiet and studious but apparently  my uncle was very outgoing.
