Kids and bomb sites were a match way into the early 60s up north😂

Same in London 

I remember an 8-10 year old me, sitting watching silly boys trying to kill themselves playing games on bomb sites and hunting for 'treasure '

There was no treasure ......and cavorting on a bomb site ,which was known as The Field didn't impress any of the girls😂

Yes 

None of my rellies were in the forces...all the engineers were working at home, my dad was attached to the army but not in it....and the two men on my mother's side were too old to be called up 😁

None of my rellies were in the forces...all the engineers were working at home, my dad was attached to the army but not in it....and the two men on my mother's side were too old to be called up 😁

My dad was in the army ...in the far east ....and got captured in the fall of Singapore . My mums brother was evacuated at Dunkirk ...and my mum worked in munitions

My dad was classed as an officer, largely for social reasons , my mum sat on her backside,waited on hand and foot . 😂
