You've got to go back to the times....crippled by reparations with a government  that made life terrible for most, they were ready to swallow another ideology...and most did....

yes, I realised after I typed it, the tools were never there to question propaganda in the 30's 

but TBF we have today I think sometimes however well informed people are  its simply an idea gaining support and  power by winning hearts and minds

No...and economically they were very innovative and socially successful if you were of Aryan stock, so no wonder people in general were quite happy
