To the Germans he was socialist, but to the rest of us he wasn't ....they had holidays on the state,housing, Volkswagens , fitness classes etc....when most of Europe was in depression

yes  - he paid for workers to go on cruises or something along those lines

we had thousands in the lakes, but I suppose it was a very safe place apart from the coastal towns like us...we were bombed, but we had harbours and boats

I know Kaytee, he flarched his way to power...but no socialist was he. At that time the Germans believed his propaganda 

Being fair.....if I had been German then, I would have accepted it....just for the good standard of living compared to 1930s Britain
