didn't like clearing them and setting them though...that was my job because I was first in after school and had to clean and set it before my parents got in from work 

I've been learning how to use Microsoft Onenote properly on Youtuube cos I'm sick of having little bits of paper and notes all over the place

Many a time (when I was little) I ended up with a reddened face but some lovely toast

Yes, the clearing out and setting was a pain. I’ve got a tiny scar with coal dust in it, on one of my index fingers - cut it when I was clearing out the fire and was too wimpy to scrub it out

Dad did that for us in the orning...he was always up first. I can remember us buying little bundles of sticks at the corner shop to put on the fire to make it start
