My dad rarely talked about it âĶ.and cos he was a pow he never had to put up with them âĶ.and I donât think I ever heard my mum talk about the war at all.

mum and dad never talked about the war either except mum wanted to be a land girl and wasn't allowed to because she was too young oh and neighbours whole family was bombed and killed when she went to check on a neighbour - dad never talked about it but he did mention Africa once and my dad's older brother was killed at sea and is mentioned in Tower Hill - he was very young about 18 and had replaced somebody - he should have been off duty- think it was when Churchill died that they mentioned it and I was only young
