I still think there are similarities but Wallis became trapped in a situation of her own making which she didn't seem to want in the end plus there were more harsher societal constraints on her actions than with Markle who knew what she wanted and went for it

or maybe just loves him...just saying. He wanted to rid the shackles of the royals long before Meghan, I can't point you to many interviews where he made it clear it wasn't the life he wanted
