Yes , my dad didn’t talk about it ....except occasionally to tell an amusing story ......but he was still having nightmares right up until he died ....

I think a lot of them tried to bury the memories....and who can blame them

My dad said it was Japanese culture ....those who surrendered were deemed to be the lowest of the low ...hence they humiliated them
