I took your advice in the other thread, but it wont let me quote.

Okay, highlight the text as usual, click reply, hit the quote icon to get your quote in then type your reply. It should amuse you greatly that I got halfway through typing this before remembering I hadn't clicked the quote thing again so had to start all over again 

I've highlighted, got up the reply box, hit the quote button - nothing happens.

I'm managing to quote ok but I'm not getting a user name when I hover over the avi ..........just a number.

Nooooo. Highlight first, click reply don't start typing like I just did again  then click quote to insert quote then start typing. OMG confusion is rife

This.  If you're on Firefox.

Prom it works sometimes if you highlight first, but if you hit reply before highlighting then it works for most.

IE doesn't work, neither does safari. But if you can use FF on your mac then it will.

How can it be easier to hit reply then move the reply box out of the way to highlight the text?  I'm sure that's not what you meant but it might be given that nobody in here seems to have any clue what's going on 

It is what I meant cos it's the only thing that works as process of elimination has proved since it re-opened

It's a serious pain in the arris, scrolling up and down and moving the reply box up and down, but hey ho, there's a recession on!

Nipped into FF quickly before I fall asleep. Quoting works here (box up, highlight, click quotes), as Prom says, it seems a bit dippy that you have to fuff around with the reply box. Anyway, I don't like FF, so I hope Lori sorts it with IE. Night, night.

I highlighted your comment, pressed reply, clicked the quote thinggy and hey presto. I'm a dab hand at this now. No moving boxes around for ME. So yeah, if anyone needs help just ask me but I might be too busy being smug over my new-found quoting amazingness 

I'm on Google Chrome with this site by the way if that makes any difference to anyone. Previous site was a nightmare with IE.

There's your problem I think. Firefox is for girls. Seriously, try Google Chrome. It's the only browser I could find that worked perfectly with Livecloud/GaGa and I much prefer IE but use Chrome just for this place.

I have Chrome d/l'd but can't be arsed to chop and change. Got a nice skin for my FF and all me bookmarks and favs, plus I've never really had a problem on here (only the recent quoting one but it's not enough to make me change!)

Thus ends the thirst for progress, the hunger for correctness of quoting, the quest for the perfect quotation and all because Karma 'can't be arsed'.

Mozilla allows me to quote, but I am unable to quote on IE.

I'm also on IE Brisket and none of the advice others have given works for me, ah well, I'm sure the techies will sort it all out as they usually do 

I have no problem quoting. If there's anything you would like quoted just let me know and I will quote it for you at the person you wanted it quoted to. It won't be confusing at all.

In Firefox it works differently for me. Doing it your way doesn't quote in the reply box, so I have to open the box first, then select the text and then click the quote button. It's bliddy confoozin, I tell 'ee.
