I can't believe ruby is only 20

Blimey Ruby is 20????? I thought she was a sulky moody 'it's all about me' adolescent  ..you'd have thought she'd have grown out of that stage by age 20

 

I had a quick look on DS...  read the last page and just saw a bunch of people moaning at the people moaning about Ruby and banging on about Paul wanting to boff her or summat 

I laughed at the post that basically said she could present a crap on a plate and they'd wax lyrical about the perfect texture and flavour of it.   

That was funny, theyve Benn arguing for over a hundred pages now 

How the heck Ruby won star baker with that * show stopper * is beyond me !! It was a lopsided mess ! And , despite what Mary Berry says, that chocolate didn't look properly tempered to me ! Plus I think the judges were very hard on  the rest of the contestants. Of course we have no idea what the cakes tasted like , but to me they all looked better than Ruby's   ... and I thought the toadstool one was brilliant . But Ruby is going to win , isn't she

I think they are being very soft with Ruby and very hard on the others  the toad stool and the guitar were very good

you know how Sue and Mel usually stay at the counter of the person who's baked the best, in their opinion, tasting thing and keep scoffing it... not been any of that shown this year.. maybe cos they not stayed to polish of the right persons stuff ,, perhaps it doesn't taste as good as the 'experts' make out

I can't bare this programme. It's only baking cake for god's sake. There they are crying their eyes out as if their life depended on it. Get a grip, it's only a TV show.

Well bakers, today's papers have a small story claiming that Paul & Ruby have the hots for each other, both of them have denied any attraction between them.

Also, a story on the radio yesterday said Mary Berry is campaigning for schools to teach more cooking, and that every student should be made to learn how to cook at least 10 (or 12, I forget) basic meals.

I think it's a great idea

So do I summer .. I cannot understand how Domestic Science was removed from the curriculum.. would be even better if they taught the parents how to cook too.. seems to be a lot out there that can't  .. some generations seemed to have missed the home cooked meal thing altogether. . what happened to helping in the kitchen as a kid that seems to have disappeared a long time ago, not just from this generation of kids but from the generation of people teaching them too.. tho I suppose they can all use a microwave or a smartphone

 

they should maybe introduce a home management lesson to the curriculum which includes things like cooking, cleaning, basic money management, basic DIY stuff like changing light bulbs or plugs.. and lots more..
