Well I'm still hopeful. If we're going to be under Tory rule it's not so bad now they are neutered. A great man/woman will rise from the rank and file of the truly considerate Labour (or Liberalish) lot and we can get rid of the bogus caring Neo-Cons again
I go out for an evening and just look what happens

That's my take on it too Suzy. (once the wailing had stopped) I managed to watch Cameron enter number 10 without snarling.....so that's a good start.

I've got this horrible image of 18 years. With me lungs the way they are, I won't even live long enough to see Labour back in Government.

Once I'd seen GB make his resignation speech I found it a lot easier to leave the telly behind ..... I suddenly felt like it had all gone flat.

What's worse is I didn't recognise one of the people on Newsnight - I guess all of the important ones are busyReference:

Don't be daft! I did have a quick add up to see how old I may be earlier though.
Breaking news....they have formed a new govt. and Danny Alexander (LibDem) is confirmed as new Sec. of State for Scotland

I was crying, but that's just me being sentimental about my socialist roots. I remember so well how I felt in 1997 when Labour got in. I'd been in Britain for 18 years and only experienced the Tories. It was one of the best nights ever and I really hope that they have changed, but I don't believe it,.Suzy I hope so.

Gotta say Gordon's farewell speech blew Cameron's 'JFK wannabe' one out the park...Go Gordon
Ducky, suzy, rexi .... I cried tonight .... and I'm a bit inbretatediated now so I'm not best placed to express myself now .....but thanks for the kind thoughts. This thread has been brilliant in that clearly lots of us have different views, but we've all been able to post and say what we felt ....shows the best of what the forum can be. I never normally post in potentially serious threads but this one has been lovely.

I may have had one too (or two!!)And I agree hoochie - It just goes to prove that we didn't need that sort of heavy handed C4 moderation - that we can come from all sides of whatever spectrum and respect each other.
However - baz told me to tell you she was right all along ... so neeehhhhhh *runs*
