My last and final take on it is, it couldn't be better. It's not good for one government to govern for too long, so we had to go back to conservative at some point.....and it couldn't have happened in a better way.

The Tory supporters get their victory but with the edge taken off..... the Labour Supporters get their defeat but with the edge taken off. Everyone's happy...ref: Ducky

And that's exactly how I see it too ducky. It's given all the politicians a big kick up the bum, and they needed it.

Does anyone know, if we actually had Proportional Representation, how each of the parties would have done? Is it possible to work it out?
It is pretty much impossible to work out Jenny, because a lot of people vote tactically and would have voted differently had we had pr. And then it would depend on what system of pr was used. But, just working it out simply based on the percentage vote as it stands it could have been:
Conseravtive: 234 seats
Labour: 188 seats
Lib Dems: 149 seats
Others: 78 seats

Its interesting to note that proportional representation is only one form of voting reform.  Evidently the Conservatives polled the same number of votes as did Tony Blair in 1997 which led to the Labour party holding 66 more seats.  Since then boundaries have been re-drawn quite considerably which has in itself led to a form of voting reform.  Time to re-draw them back to where they were perhaps.

.I just got an email saying we have all been CON-DEM'd

Worthy of a FB status that one!

Update for Ditty: I think the FB thing is sorted, for me at least. When Muf told me to check my privacy settings I changed a few things. It seems to have stopped my niece seeing the rest of the convo that took place after that time.

I will be watching FB carefully though

I'd like the voting reform to mean that I could have voted and hoped my vote would have counted for something.

As it was... I voted with my heart... but I knew it would count for nothing as the tory seat in my area was safe as houses.    I can understand why people wonder what the point is in situations like this...  cos there really wasn't much point in me voting...  I did it out of principle really.
