1997, I stashed the house with booze and drank brandy through the night and started on the wine when Tony was walking through Downing Street. I felt like poo for a couple of days after, but it was well worth it
I stayed up that night with some uni friends it was so exciting and joyful ...and we drank champagne for breakfast in the garden in the sunshine ...... seems like a world away!

From the BBC news website.....

The front pages of the first editions are popping into our inbox now at a rate of knots. Another not overly enamoured with the situation at Westminster is the Daily Mail with its headline "Now for the shabby deals", expanding on its theme with the strapline "As the election descends into shambles, Cameron and Brown battle for crushed Clegg's support".

Cheery lot the Daily Mail aren't they.

I've gone from...

Oh .... to Damn ....to sod it ......to ah well in the space of 12 hours.

My last and final take on it is, it couldn't be better. It's not good for one government to govern for too long, so we had to go back to conservative at some point.....and it couldn't have happened in a better way.

The Tory supporters get their victory but with the edge taken off..... the Labour Supporters get their defeat but with the edge taken off. Everyone's happy

I know, those feelings of elations don't come along too often in politics, but unfortunately, the expectations were a little too high (although I'm still a staunch socialist)

In my wine beffuddled state (I'll tell you all about it some other time) I totally agree with you ducky.

The country couldn't agree... yet the country if in a bit of a pickle.

So ... the country all needs to work together to deal with it.

Hell Baz - does that make me a socialist??!!
