ello Babe.... I am regressing back to apathy...  that way it doesn't hurt as much... by tomorrow I will be back to  when politics is being discussed... it doesn't hurt as much, and is a much less scary & happier way to live!
Same here Ditty, whoever gets in won't do much for Mr Pink or me!  But I have to admit I will be watching the news with a bit more interest this weekend.

Happy Birthday to Mr Ditty as well...

Barring anything radical in terms of tax or council tax or something, I am fairly sure that there will be no obvious impact on us either.. not in the near future anyway....

...but its the bigger picture that worries me...  the stuff that happens quietly and little by little...  public resources, specialist services... you know the kind of thing...  I don't want to end up looking round and suddenly realising just how bleak & grim everything has got.

You've done well Z.....I had to sit through most of this, did you? I think it's been the most fascinating Election I've ever taken part in, and it will bring us up to speed with most of the rest of the world (not very many Majority Parliaments out there). I'm bored of party politics, tribalism and dogma. The whole system will be shaken up now.

On a side note, I know this thread is about the General Election, but I have just checked the BBC website and see that Sandwell has been retained as a Labour council (boo, hiss) with a increased majority.  The only good news I can see about it is that the BNP who had 2 seats on the council have lost all their seats and sadly for me as I voted Lib/Dem locally as a lot of you know I have a real dislike of our council, both the Tories and Lib/Dems have lost seats to Labour.

One fondly remembers the somewhat sarcastic postcard in circulation many years back.

KEEP POLITICS OUT OF POLITICS-VOTE  SDP!

I will never tire of party politics, dogma, and in particular tribalism. If they are successful I can't wait to get stuck in.

It's appalling that the Libs can get 23-ish% of the total vote and only 9-ish% of the total MP's

If the Lib Dems make a deal with the Conservatives that doesn't guarantee electoral reform then they are total idiots.

Breaking news on the BBC news channel

SNP talking to Labour about a possible deal, and Cameron and Clegg will be talking this evening.

Now this is going to sound really stupid, but would Nick Clegg want to join up with one of the other two and not be PM, what benefits will the Lib/Dems get from joining one of the other parties as I would feel that they are going to alienate a section of people who voted for them yesterday, especially if people tactically voted, or at the end of the day do we all say we will tactically vote and then just vote for the party we have always voted for at the end of the day?  I tactically voted locally, but voted for the party I always voted for nationally, as I feel our MP is one of the good guys and does actually listen to us constituents

Good for you GJ, but I'm the one feeling positive and hopeful today, and you appear to be feeling like crap. And yes, the conditional if. IMO it hasn't been a success since the early 1970s, and I don't ever imagine dogma working again. I don't see the need to take a political position any longer, and it is liberating.
