She got around 1800 votes in a seat the Labour Party held.
She came in 4th,

He didn't say that exactly...he said they should be allowed to have a go at forming a govt. seeing as they got the most seats.

Just been reading all of this thread.....well done to all of you who stayed up through' the whole night and provided the rest of us with a running commentary. I went to bed about 1.30 a.m.(similar excuse to Ditty!) had the TV on in the bedroom and checked in every hour or so. I'm really very very surprised that the lib dems did so poorly

I love prawn sandwiches.....I'll nip up to town and grab it
I'm a bit surprised about the Liberal Democrats. Yet we have seen it before - a spreading desire for supporting a minority party, but then when we come to placing the cross on the paper, we revert to old habits, after all we don't want to waste our vote. (But it wouldn not be wasted if enough people did it at the same time.)
However we have just heard Gordon Brown in Downing Street with his bag of carrots for the Liberals.
Maybe the Labour party does not have great choices when it comes to choosing a leader, but I always thought Brown was a poor choice, and I still think so. I remain surprised that most Labour politicians think Brown is their best assett (or do they?)

Who knows??! But I reckon they are stuck with him for a bit longer! If we do end up with a Lab-Lib coalition, the last thing the labour party can do is replace him an enforce ANOTHER unelected leader on us....imagine the stink that would kick up!
As Broon is almost universally disliked and his record has been dire...will the country stand for an unelected PM remaining in situ?....I think we have to see a lot more political shenanigans before the dust settles on this one
I'm out of the loop now... .just really wondering if Zaph's still awake and if he tore himself away to walk Rufus or if the poor hound is sitting crosslegged by the door.
