it seems now that since Tony Blair a politician has to be charismatic and that someone who is genuinely politically motivated, is seen as being boring,
One of the many reasons I can't stand Cameron..... he was chosen for his youth only (they made a mistake and forgot the charismatic bit ....or maybe they just confused it with smarmy git )

He literally sets my teeth on edge, I find him insincere and as you say smarmy (apologies to Tory voters here), I still haven't forgotten "Call me Dave" and the hug a hoodie nonsense he came out with and some of the stuff he came out with during the televised debates made me feel, sorry unrepentant Labour voter here, yet even thoguh I hate a lot of what she did, I still have a strange kind of respect for Thatcher, at least she stuck to her policies, Cameron to me jumps on the nearest bandwagon.

From BBC election website regarding the problems some voters have had yesterday.

0215: Earlier, we heard that some 600 people had been unable to vote in Chester, but we're now being told that's not quite the case. Figures are not clear, but the three main parties say some who registered on the last day got to the polling stations this morning to find their names weren't on the list. Officials phoned the town hall to check they were registered and they were allowed to vote. Some, who didn't have time to wait, went away and came back later.
