Ooh two shots slammed into the net by Federer What is going on?!
Federer seems to be made of steel most of the time, when he has a bit of a crisis it still surprises me.

His confidence seems to have deserted him
Nadal must be intimidating to face across the net, being the best on clay. Fed could come back from this.....not sure if it's his day though.
The shots into the net are very telling....Fed just can't cope with him at the moment.
Is it me or do the BBC commentary team want Federer to win this? They don't seem quite as animated when Rafa wins a great point, like just then when he went 6-2 up in the tiebreak.
I like Fed and he is one of the greatest players, but this biased commentary is doing my head in. Even now as Rafa wins the second set, they sound disappointed!!
Blimey! Well, Roger had his chance there and I don't know whether he can come back now. Must have knocked his confidence a bit.
I don't really mind who wins this as I like both players, just enjoying the match
Yes. Just as Federer looked like he was getting back in the match, he fell apart again.
I sort of ignore a lot of what comes from the commentary box. because so often they seem to be watching a different match or it's quite biased.
Will we get action from Queen's Club next week on the red button? *hopes*
I wish I could ignore Andrew Castle, but he irritates me so much. Even now as Nadal seems to have this match, the demeanour in the commentary is so downbeat, yet if it was the other way, they'd be having kittens over how amaazzzing Rog is. It used to annoy me when Henman was playing, they'd assume anyone watching would want him to win and no-one else.
I'll shut up about it now, sorry.
Federer seems to have completely collapsed at the moment. If he doesn't recover soon it'll be too late!

On clay, against Rafa he seems to lose focus doesn't he, there's so much spin on the ball, I think he finds it difficult. Seems like a massive mind game out there today, it's so tense.
Nadal seems to be imploding now. We could be in for a fourth set!

I'm pretty sure Queens will be on the red button.
I cringe too at some of the OTT commentary when we have home players in action. I even notice the slightly lesser extent if it's Scottish and the overly hysterical spouting if it's English.
Disclaimer:This is not an 'English people' bashing post - it is an 'English commentator' bashing post.

I think we are! What a roller-coaster match this has been so far.
Bravo, Roger! We've got at least one more set
Oh I totally agree, Fluffy. I'm English and can't stand the bias towards English players at Wimbledon.I'm all for supporting your home nation but it goes too far. I'm so glad Henmania is over. 'Tiger Tim' was nothing of the sort!
There's often a different match that I want to see when they put all the focus on the home players. I also notice that Andy Murray is a Brit but then becomes Scottish with the commentators(and the media - don't get me started on them, lol) if he's losing, it's stupid.
Fed wins the third set, and all of a sudden Mr Castle, Sue Barker et al get louder and more animated, LOL what a joke.
I agree about the bias of the commentators, too. I don't like Murray or Henman and it used to annoy me the way the BBC kept harping on about the whole country wanting them to win.
All credit to Roger for getting back into this match, he's had to work hard for it, although I fear Rafa is choking a bit at the prospect of winning this.
My friend, a keen viewer of 'Match of the Day', tells me that the panel on there constantly drool over Manch. United.
Who do you want to win, Fluffy?
Wasn't sure for a while, but I'd like Federer to get it.

Yes. I wasn't too fussed to start with but I'd like Federer to win now, too!
I suspect this is curtains for Federer this time.
It's not over yet........but Nadal is fighting hard for this.
I want Rafa to get his record win. I will still feel sad for Fed if it goes that way though.

Fed just made too many mistakes and too often there were too many strung together.
BTW, anyone think that there's a good facial structure similarity between Rodger Federer and Quentin Tarantino?
That grey-haired chap sorting out the trophy table is rather attractive
Fed just made too many mistakes and too often there were too many strung together.
A lot of unforced errors for Federer.
Rafa now shares Borg's record of six wins at Roland Garros. Very well played he looks emotional.
Why the disappointed face Cologne?

Haha yes I see what you mean!
Since when do they play national anthems at Tennis finals? This isn't Formula One or the Olympics
Well done Raffa!! A fantastic match ~ how they do it at this level is amazing.
Nadal's shot making and stamina were fantastic........not to mention those arm muscles.
Did you see them when he raised the cup? *swoon swoon*

Am ok now Avalon
I'll act my age and not my shoe size lol.
Fantastic match, I thought it was going to be close, Nadal hasn't really played that well by his standards in getting to the final , He needs to step up a gear to retain Wimbledon, I do feel after watching a game like this,Where does this leave Murray in terms of winning a slam, These two players today seem to be on another level,

I agree with you RZB, the top four are probably better than other top fours in decades. I've been an avid follower of Murray but lets face it he's not great to watch at the moment. Sooo inconsistent. He has the game to win a slam but atm he doesn't have the self belief. I'm hoping Cahill can help in that regard but maybe the stuborn attitude of Murray will be his downfall. Hope not. Fabulous match today congrats to two supremely talented players.
Although I'm pleased Rafa won I did feel a bit sorry for Federer - you could just see that he really wanted to win this again.
I like the respect those two have for each other.
Looking forward to Wimbledon but first, Queens.

They are on another level RZB. I think Andy Murray will always be a bridesmaid at these events. I spent last week in Northern France and a a couple of days in Paris and every billboard and all the buzz is still around Federer and Nadal. Li Na winning the ladies' final is going to be a big boost to China, and the word is that the next generation of top players is going to come from there. Shame it rained though, the whole week I was there was glorious sunshine.
