Is it me or do the BBC commentary team want Federer to win this? They don't seem quite as animated when Rafa wins a great point, like just then when he went 6-2 up in the tiebreak.

I like Fed and he is one of the greatest players, but this biased commentary is doing my head in. Even now as Rafa wins the second set, they sound disappointed!!

I don't really mind who wins this as I like both players, just enjoying the match

Yes. Just as Federer looked like he was getting back in the match, he fell apart again.

Will we get action from Queen's Club next week on the red button? *hopes*

I wish I could ignore Andrew Castle, but he irritates me so much. Even now as Nadal seems to have this match, the demeanour in the commentary is so downbeat, yet if it was the other way, they'd be having kittens over how amaazzzing Rog is. It used to annoy me when Henman was playing, they'd assume anyone watching would want him to win and no-one else.

I'll shut up about it now, sorry.

On clay, against Rafa he seems to lose focus doesn't he, there's so much spin on the ball, I think he finds it difficult. Seems like a massive mind game out there today, it's so tense.

I'm pretty sure Queens will be on the red button.

I cringe too at some of the OTT commentary when we have home players in action. I even notice the slightly lesser extent if it's Scottish and the overly hysterical spouting if it's English.

Disclaimer:This is not an 'English people' bashing post - it is an 'English commentator' bashing post.

Oh I totally agree, Fluffy. I'm English and can't stand the bias towards English players at Wimbledon.I'm all for supporting your home nation but it goes too far. I'm so glad Henmania is over. 'Tiger Tim' was nothing of the sort!

There's often a different match that I want to see when they put all the focus on the home players. I also notice that Andy Murray is a Brit but then becomes Scottish with the commentators(and the media - don't get me started on them, lol) if he's losing, it's stupid.

Fed wins the third set, and all of a sudden Mr Castle, Sue Barker et al get louder and more animated, LOL what a joke.

A lot of unforced errors for Federer.

Rafa now shares Borg's record of six wins at Roland Garros. Very well played he looks emotional.

Why the disappointed face Cologne?

Fantastic match, I thought it was going to be close, Nadal hasn't really played that well by his standards in getting to the final , He needs to step up a gear to retain Wimbledon, I do feel after watching a game like this,Where does this leave Murray in terms of winning a slam, These two players today seem to be on another level,

I agree with you RZB, the top four are probably better than other top fours in decades.  I've been an avid follower of Murray but lets face it he's not great to watch at the moment.  Sooo inconsistent.  He has the game to win a slam but atm he doesn't have the self belief.  I'm hoping Cahill can help in that regard but maybe the stuborn attitude of Murray will be his downfall.  Hope not.  Fabulous match today congrats to two supremely talented players.

They are on another level RZB. I think Andy Murray will always be a bridesmaid at these events. I spent last week in Northern France and a a couple of days in Paris and every billboard and all the buzz is still around Federer and Nadal. Li Na winning the ladies' final is going to be a big boost to China, and the word is that the next generation of top players is going to come from there. Shame it rained though, the whole week I was there was glorious sunshine.
