I see that she says "leave go" instead of "let go", I still am inclined to say that today, so that's where it comes from!
You might be interested in this encarta page which looks at the word leave and how it can sometimes be used correctly as an alternative to let. Leave is fine when it is meant to signifiy soem something is bothering the person. So "Leave go of my arm" is just as good as "Let go of my arm". However where let is being used to give permission for something to be done, leave is not correct.
