There are many comments like this on the CH4 website.  It annoys them when I spoil it by pointing out this nomance/showmance is pathetic.

Lord knows Shar, unless they think most of their viewers are loveless feed them this let them think , it could happen to them too.

The thing is, BB as usual are over-simplifying everything to make the "storyline" fit tabloid-friendly headline and soundbites. Many viewers who only see the HLs will buy it (literally), but the truth, as usual, is a lot messier...

I had to eventually accept the "story-boarding" years ago.   I don't like it, but it was a case of accept it or stop watching.

personally... I would be happy to watch the warts n all messy version...  

I also think that compared to some of the past contrived romances...  this one has been housemate initiated...  though I accept that its being edited & produced into something more simplified & polished...

Yup - "warts n all" wins every time. IMO, getting to see the "messy reality" was the one of the main reasons for watching BB in the first place. (Again, an argument for LF).


And yes - I think you're right that this relationship is a lot less contrived than many in the past. It's just the editing that annoys me. You can almost hear the BB editors saying to each other: "Davina's going to lurve this!"

I just posted another sarcastic remark, complaining that this crappy showmance montage is still the top news item, some 3 hours later, making me wonder if nothing has happened in the house all evening.
