Man Utd players will most likely still be covering themselves in champagne in front of the cameras on the Ewood Park pitch whilst the two teams are walking out on to the pitch at Wembley. I think that will take a bit of focus away from the event, which is rather unfair.

And don't forget two of the Playoff finals are being played at Old Trafford because of the bloody Champions League as well...

Old bleeding Trafford!?! Is the Millennium Stadium hosting anything on those dates?

Really? That's dreadful!

So much for the old concept of the FA Cup FInal being the fans' "big day out" in London...

Putting my "neutral" cap on, it makes me hope that next year's final is between something like Carlisle U, and Newcastle U., and both sets of fans tell the FA to, well, FO...

It's the strength of the PL that makes the FA Cup an also ran footy game I think.

I'm totally against other footie taking place while the FA Cup final is on. I know it's because of the CL that the FAC final has been moved but surely they could have played all the league games on the other day this weekend.

Probably those barstewards at Sky calling the shots as always.

And you're right Suzy, it was a much bigger event years ago

I seem to remember one of the big things during the build up was It's a knockout featuring fans/celebs of the 2 teams, Back then it felt like the whole country came to a standstill on the final day.

I didn't much (and still don't) like watching the route they took to get there, the matches they won. It's like........yeah ok we can all watch again elsewhere if we're bothered

hiya Veg, Up to a few seasons ago, we would of done cartwheels for 6th, Close watchers at WHL have known since February, we're not a patch on last season, From day one when we had chance after chance aganst City, to the other night against the same,we just aren't scoring, But the play can still be a delight to watch at times, We can still get Europa through some fairplay scheme, Expect Harry to instruct mass bookings in the next 2 games, and maybe a sending off or 2,

What used tp amaze me was a few hours after the final, ITV would air a show, how the cup was won,

That rings a bell RZB (long time no see ) and the teams would bring out cheesy records that would actually chart. The whole thing had more of a carnival feel back then.

The highest football related song in the chart this Sunday looks likely to Paul Hardcastle's 19, bought by United fans in the hope of a 19th  title. Has there been much support for  that track Meaty, I know Stoke have a campaign by fans to download Delilah.

Mine too, I won't have anything Murdoch in the house. I know it's hypocritical with all the money they pump into the PL but it really rankles me that games are moved to suit Sky with no regard to the integrity of the league or how it will affect fans ie having to travel long distances for either early or very late kickoffs

FM

You're right Joe, but people will carry on buying those live games..............me included. I'm currently with Virgin but is becoming more and more expensive, and when I hear the outcome of a work 'meeting' and if I still have a job, I'm off to probably join Sky. Now if we all said no........we're not buying, I wonder what would happen?
