Anyone been watching this?

Well, it's back on Channel 4 on Monday 14th March. A double episode from 10pm to midnight.

Whoop-de-do! I can hardly wait.

Gave up on it long ago as it followed the usual formula of the recent crop of American sci-fi series of endless flashbacks and spending more time expaining characters' back stories than plot developments.

Remind you what it is, or remind you to watch it  come Monday?
It's American.
America has a black president.
There's this group of people who appeared to have survived a plane crash when we first saw them, but some think they are aliens - and it wasn't actually a plane crash.
Their leader is called Sophia and her son is Thomas. Sophia and the president were quite good friennds at one point, but their relationship is a bit strained
They don't appear to age as quickly as 'normal' humans.
Leila and her boyfriend were on a cruise and she was kidnapped from it and everyone denied she was ever on the ship.
Leila's sister Samantha has also been kidnapped and Leila and her boyfriend are trying to find her.
Other strange things have happened.
Thomas and HIS girlfriend have launched a sattelite - for why?
That was at the end of the last episode.

You not into 'strangeness' things then Jen, like LOST?

It gripped me from the stert!

I would give it a go, before making up your mind totally, Everyone can have a different perspective.

Can't say I've ever heard of that.
But sometimes I stumble across things that I enjoy, then realise after that I have no idea what the programme was actually called.

I thought Fringe was on a break.. .have I missed some of it?  hope not..

all this Sky taking over everything is making me lose track of what is being shown and on what channel. .don't get the Sky Atlantic one so am hoping non of the stuff I used to watch gets shown on there instead. .will not be a happy bunny
Mount Olympus *Olly*
phew thanks Jen..  I thought I'd missed it on the TV schedules.. I am not a fan of online watching. .my puter screen is too small and I prefer to lounge on my sofa watching it on the TV instead.. Usually V+ my favourite stuff so I can watch at my leisure..

I am a couch potato

but then I have nowt better to do anyway..
Mount Olympus *Olly*
I am not sure what episode part one stopped at...  I registered with Sky Never miss and clicked notify me for when shed loads of programmes restart.. like I said couch potato..

I am funny about watching stuff at scheduled times on the box. .[well recording for watching later. . and hate spoilers too ] I like the wait for the proper thing...  also my eyes go funny if I stare at a puter screen for too long anyway.. only time I've watched stuff online is if I have missed the start or an episode but then I look to download if I can and burn to DVD..

Thats s3e5 Lori
Jen-Star
and you are at s3e14? Holy cow, I'm behind.
So, I should tell you how I'm watching.  I have an iPad that has internet when there is wireless available, but not like my phone. My husband and I TIVO a bunch of shows, but we got terribly behind on Fringe. One day, I saw a guy watching something on his iPhone on the bus, and it got me thinking that I could catch up on Fringe by buying episodes from iTunes and watching on my iPad (bigger screen).
So, I went from reading Nathanial Hawthorne and Herman Melville on the bus to watching Fringe.
How very...high-minded of me (not!)

This is still the first series. It's returning after the long Winter break.

[Edit]
Tonight's double-bill consists of episodes 11 and 12 out of 22.

Do you think if I started watching tonight I'd be able to grasp what's happened reasonably quick? Or is it like Lost where if you haven't watched it from the start you've got absolutely no chance of knowing what the hell is going on.?

Just one question (there may not even be an answer to this) but has 'The Event' happened yet?

Cos I'm thinking of Flashforward and how if you missed the actual flashforward in the first ep then there wasn't much point in watching it.
