I'd like to find time later to read those manifestos El Loro. Atm I'm catching sound bites here and there on tv from the 3 main parties. No one party of course can ever promise us what we'd all personally like to see happen or change, even if they did it wouldn't happen. They all have things I agree and disagree with, doubt I'm unusual in that but I wonder how many things I agree with would happen once they're in power, at this stage it's all yadda yadda and hype just to get elected. Personally I can't remember any huge positive change in my life after an election than before it.

From what I've heard so far my choice would be a vote for Labour or Lib Dems - the decades old 2 party system really needs a huge shake up and maybe this year is the one for that with all the disillusionment about politicians. Cameron is slick, desperate, fits into the mould of today where it's all about image but personally he lost 2 votes in our house when we heard he wants to repeal the Ban against fox hunting. I was listening to Brian May (Queen) on Sky and he is as passionate about animal welfare of all species as we are, and he's going to do his own campaign against Cameron's proposal. For some of us it can be just one issue that decides a vote of for or against a candidate.

I am totally disillusioned with them all. Every time any one of them come on the tv, I seem to be shouting at them "You're talking a load of bull! None of you can be trusted! You don't know what you're talking about! Or, you do, but you are going to try to pull the wool over our eyes again, as per usual!"

I've never felt this way before. God knows who I will finally decide to vote for.

I also would like the time to read all these manifestos, some of which are pretty lengthy. The trouble is that unless one looks at them and just rely on sound bites, it is easy to miss out important details. For instance the proposed tax changes to the working tax credit system. When the BBC news went through the Liberal Democrat menifesto yesterday, they talked about increasing the perosnal allowance to ÂĢ10,000 which would save ÂĢ700 for the lower paid wage earner, but there was a criticism that the average paid wage earner. what the BBC didn't mention was that in the manifesto, the Liberal Democrats would restrict the working tax credits to part pay for this, saving ÂĢ1.3 billion in a full year. That's almost a quarter of the full annual cost of tax credits (ÂĢ5.9 billion). The manifesto doesn't go into details in the manifesto, but else where on their website, they intend to restrict the credits so that the net result is that the lower paid would be overall winners, the average paid would have some restriction, but the higher paid would be the losers - probably no credits for those earning over ÂĢ26,000.

I think you are voicing the view of the majority. The risk is that people will stay away on election day which could easily mean that the result would not be representative. Or people may decide to vote for one of the smaller parties in protest. If that resulted in say BNP candidates being elected and there being a hung parliament, the BNP could be in a position of being able to make bargains with one of the main parties. I don't believe that the vast number of people in the UK could stand that nightmare scenario, but that could happen.

So I believe that people should vote for the party that they find closest to their views rather than negatively. None of the main parties are ideal, and the expenses scandal has rocked confidence in our parliamentary system, but I would hope that politicians have learnt from their mistakes.

I have added the manifestos for the Comunist Perty, Alliance for Green Socialism Party, Socialist Party, and the Scottish Equality Party to the above list. I realist that there are some omissions in the list, but I have not yet been able to find these other manifestos. I am not going to attempt to add manifestos for the hundreds of independent candidates as that would make the list too long. However this is a link to the Independent Kiddermister Hospital Campaign website which, although is an idependent party with one candidate, it does have considerable local support, and Richard Taylor was elected at the last election and is standing again.
And I've just added the TUSC which is a new party of trade union groups fielding some 40 candidates.
