Bass players. They never get to do solos, most of the time no matter how famous their band is people are at a loss to remember their names (even drummers get more recognition) yet some songs just wouldn't be the same at all without them. Post your homages to Godlike basslines here. 

I'll start with this one. The bassline on the verse just grooves along all by its little self without a care in the world for anything else.

Cagney, go to youtube, choose your song. Highlight the web address (top bar on your screen) and press control C to copy it. Come here and reply then click on insert/edit embedded media on the right side to the left of the quote button then click insert and submit reply.

Most songs are overpowered by lead guitar. Don't get me wrong....I LOVE lead guitar and I'm teaching myself at the moment (actually I've been teaching myself for about 5 years)  BUT IMO it's bass that holds a song together. I annoy my OH because I every song I hear I pick out the bass line and point it out to him (with my air bass guitar)
