Hi Angel, yeah she's been cookery writing for some time and did a cook book last year. Difficult not to make comparisons with Nigella: posh, good looking, sexy and producing lovely 'homely'/ 'comfort' type food with the best quality ingredients.....Think she might get on my nerves before long mind!
Posh women frighten me a bit
I saw her for a few minutes on the One Show tonight, very pretty lady. Hubby has the footie on so didn't see her show. Is she also known for being a model? or an actress?
She was interviewed in the "Loose Ends" programme on Saturday.
My dear, it was like pulling teeth.

She became famous as a plus size model initially YR, (unless you count that her grandfather Roald Dahl based Sophie in the BFG on her.) Born with a silver spoon in her mouth and was a bit of a rebel, is now a writer/columnist and is married to Jamie Cullum....Love her dress in that pic btwOh and obviously isn't plus size anymore LOL!
Oh Super I remember her from her modeling days now....TBH she reminded me of Kiera Knightly tonight.

She reminded me of Debbie Harry when she was bigger Lee. I remember someone once saying that the reason Elizabeth Taylor was so beautiful was because she had a perfectly symmetrical face,Sophie Dahl certainly has one too, talk about geeky kid got gorgeous!
You're right Super she has the Debbie Harry pout imo....The older she get's the more beautiful she seems to get, she's stunning.

Lee, can't decide if I'm going to really like her or if I think she's just going to be too 'sickly sweet' and do a bit too much of that cooking= sex stuff....but she's certainly v beautiful, and she cooked some v scrummy stuff too
I was comparing her to Nigella before the programme aired, but I thought she was lovely
TBH I couldn't take my eyes off her engagement ring.......She's either left handed, or showing off

Oh I remember now seeing her on tv shows as a plus size model. I remember thinking good for her that she was accepted in that world without being forced to be a size 6 or whatever. Thanks for the reminder

We've had the cooking/sex stuff already so she'd be flogging a dead horse going down that route imo.

Lee, It was v reminiscent of Nigella , spoon licking etc.
Oh no Super....That would put me right off tbh, what next will she be barefoot.

I'm always barefoot in my kitchen, am I trying to compare my cooking with sex then?
Do you feel you are?,personally I couldn't give e a fiddlers if you cook stark naked .....I think you missed my point anyway tbh ,wasn't one cook renowned for being barefoot, the Barefoot Contessa I think she was called.
I don't really watch cookery progs, so no. God, she's annoying. Does she have to be so drop-dead gorgeous? Lucky cow..
She can keep Jamie Cullum though - he's too short for ME and I'm five foot two, not six foot like her. They look ridiculous together.

Am I looking at a different person? I really don't see Sophie Dahl as being remotely attractive
Really? I think she's stunning. But then, you lust after old hairy muttonchops, so your taste is hardly reliable

I reckon Miss Dahl would be right up 'old hairy mutton chop's' street, maybe Growly Bear is jealous?
BTW why is she called Miss when she's married

I would be very jealous of any woman who was the target of the Love God's affection. But I still don't think Sophie Dahl is in the least bit attractive, even since she's lost weight.
I was at the game. Whilst I thought her quite attractive in the old days, I had assumed that this was a cookery programme.
Both Sophie and Nigella are stunning, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. For me, Nigella wins hands down but then she is closer to me in age.
I prefer the Chinese cooking show on CH5 at 7.30,she makes it look so easy.

Mr Blizz thinks and talks about it constantly, but it always ends up a bit rushed, noisy, badly timed and, of course, after we've both enjoyed the results, I end up clearing up his mess, while he snores happily away.

Why have I suddenly remembered Lea and her whisk? Reference: Toid

You can't blame me for that!
I don't watch cookery programmes...but I caught the Hairy Bikers the other night....and loved it, even if I have no intention of cooking anything they did.
