Well, this sure has been a tough one, hasn’t it? Each and every one of them has a fairly good reason for wanting Roland dead. It turns out that he wasn’t as nice as everyone first made out, was he? Anyway, it is with minimum optimism and maximum guesswork that I have finally decided who I think killed Roland. Brace yourselves and try not to laugh, my brain is so frazzled!

*crosses fingers and hopes this is even somewhere close*

Tommy Gunn, I reckon (with as much conviction as I can muster) that you did it.

*tries to look like what is about to be said is cold hard fact and not a total stab in the dark....pun completely intended*

Tommy, you are a man of very few brain cells but a whole lot of misguided love. You thought of Roland as a friend, a good friend and you fell in love with his daughter. Sadly for you, Roland didn’t feel the way you imagined. He didn’t think you were good enough for his precious princess and he made this very obvious with his constant digs that showed he didn’t take you seriously. These digs hurt and offended you immensely because Roland was only too happy to spend your money on his hotel but he wouldn’t trust you with his daughter. You said you were in the gaming room, plucking up the courage to propose to Jen, yet no-one saw you there, not even your beloved Jen and, let’s face it Tommy, you are a hard man to miss. I reckon you were in the office trying to show Roland that you weren’t the joke he thought you were...the chicken was meant to symbolise his lack of faith in you and your abilities but when Roland saw you with it he couldn’t resist a dig, could he? He couldn’t help but try to make you look silly. You are a man with many connections in Vegas and it would not be unreasonable for you to be involved with protection agencies, such as the one run by Takye Bullet. It is therefore totally plausible that you would know the ‘invisible’ bodyguards assigned to protect him, if indeed any had. By marrying Jen you knew you would eventually be married to the owner of the hotel, the one you had ploughed so much money into, the one you felt you should have more of a say in. Sadly, you knew nothing of the bet he had with the Sheikh, hence why your first thought at Rolands death was for poor ‘Jens inheiritence’ and not for Jen herself. Anyway, you flipped when Roland continued to taunt you and using a knife that you always have on you, (what gangster doesn’t??) you stabbed Roland to death in a frenzied and passionate attack. Stabbing requires a great deal of emotion to carry out, especially when it’s as brutal as this was and you were certainly full of emotion. All you wanted was to be accepted by the father of the woman you loved, the man who you had financed for months with no real show of gratitude.

I suspect that you still went ahead with your proposal to Jen to deflect attention away from the possibility that you could be the murderer, after all, what kind of man would kill the darling Daddy of the woman he loves? A man desperate for some kind of acknowledgement from a town he had ploughed ridiculous sums of money into and got nothing back from, that’s who.

yes Harry you're right it does remind me of one of my old friend Hoirot's cases..

I had forgotten to put the other possible reason Candi may have wanted revenge in my accusation post.. all done now..  I feel you lot all knew each other, long before this deed was committed, and planned this together. .

Thank you for coming ladies, gentlemen and Bet.

This has been a truly taxing case to crack. Much of the normal detective work has not been possible due to the contamination of the murder scene.
Now sit back and enjoy the drinks being served to you while I go through my submission.

According to the statements you made last night, all of you were  in the casino gaming room at the same time as I was performing on stage. That is with the exception of Candi. So of course I looked at Candi first. This young woman is new to the Casino and, regardless of what has been said about her, is nothing more than a foolish young woman who thinks using her body rather than her mind is the way to fame and fortune, unfortunately some men are all too happy to use these women and for want of a better word screw them. Roland was one if those men. Candi was the victim of her own innocence and stupidity. She could not commit a murder..
This means it had to be one of us from the Gaming room, one of us lied. I am not going to waste your time going through the mountain of circumstantial evidence against all of you, and that include myself. The smoke screen of the rubber chicken is just that, a ruse.

No the person who did this horrible act was first on the Murder scene, this person portrayed uncharacteristic behaviour immediately in a thin vale of concern. This did not last long for they turned almost immediately into the cunning uncaring and vengeful person that they truly are, and began accusing and bitching without hesitancy.
DIDN'T YOU BET BLACK!!  The only person in this room savage enough to do such an act and the only pesron who is good at not being seen as she sneeks round the Casino looking for victims. You are the murderer admit it!!

I rest my case
James

Oh Redâ€Ķâ€Ķ.. how could you think so badly of me?  Has Tommy G been anything but nice to you since you showed your pretty face and substantial chest in Vegas huh?

Well you’ve blown your chances of making it in this town hunny. The Gunns have loooooong memories and even longer scopes on their sawn off shot guns.

I’ll tell ya who did this thing, I may be brainiacally challenged, but I can spot a murdering barsteward when I see one.

It was AL that did it, that’s who! Thought he was well clever about it an all. Slipping Sherry a bit of something in her 14th rum and coke to make sure she didn’t see him sneaking off when he went to do the deed.

As for motiveâ€Ķ.well it’s obvious innit? Betrayed by his best friend, he had no money, no prospects, no house, and all that his BBF offered him was a job as backup singer to his sworn enemy! He’d have been paid peanuts for that kinda gig! So badly paid he had to do a bit of how’s ya father, for a few measly dollars, with the old grannies who wanted a bit of the old Elvis hip action. Roland saw him in the gutter, and instead of giving him a leg up he stood on his head.

So Al took his well earned revenge. Made a good job of it too, earnt my respect good and properâ€Ķâ€Ķ.. I reckon I could send him a job or two his way .

Ladies and gentlemen, it's obvious to me who the killer is and I shall be most surprised if it's not equally obvious to you. If you remember the killer's letter they hated people telling jokes. Is there a humourless coldhearted individual amongst us with a heart of stone who finds no hilarity in anything they are presented with in this life?

Of course there is, isn't there Bet. But that alone is not sufficient evidence to suspect her of a murder. For this, you would have to consider the utter humiliation of having a cheating boyfriend who takes to the casino to the cleaners and saddles them both with a massive debt that could only become null and void in the event of the death of one Roland Ewynn.

How did she escape the attention of the others when she left the gaming room to commit the dastardly deed? The truth is, it wasn't difficult at all. Nobody watches Bet Black, in this casino Bet is the ever watchful eye. She keeps tabs on everyone else while they go about their business. Nobody would even notice if they looked around and she wasn't in their line of vision. They would simply assume she was doing her rounds checking the tables, making sure everything is in order.

She may even have had her partner in crime do her dirty work for her, knowing everyone else was busy with Harry's abysmal excuse for a magic show. It matters not whether it was her or her partner that killed Roland Ewynn. What matters is she had everything to gain from the crime and nothing to lose. If you have been following her comments during the course of this whole sorry mess you will no she is not only ruthless but also more than capable of dishing out her own particular brand of justice when push came to shove. Bet Black is your murderer. Case closed.

Well ah do declare ah am not as bright as some of you folks...

Ah can only go on intuition and ma intuition is strong..
Ah can see it in folks eyes if they are telling the truth or not...

Ah think the murderer is.....

The Sheikh..

Ah do not trust a man who has more than one wife at a time and ah feel he had a lot to gain from Roland's death..

You lot don’t know WHAT you are talking about.   Especially you Harry and Chip, you’ve both outdone yourselves in the stupidity stakes tonight. You're both WRONG! But heyâ€Ķ..Drip, don’t look so downâ€Ķ.. just be pleased you didn’t lay any money on this one.

It’s pretty damn obvious who the guilty party isâ€Ķâ€Ķâ€Ķâ€Ķ it’s JEN!

I’ve worked here since this place opened, and my beady eyes don’t miss a trick. Jen  ran herself ragged to make sure this place ran like clockwork and was a great success, while Roland sat on his fat lard arse in the office, gambling on his livelihood, feeling up every peroxide dummy he could get his hands on, and never stopping to thank his daughter for all the work she does.

It’s no wonder Shrek thought he could win that stupid bet, he must have thought this place was a dead cert to fail with Roland in charge. Except he wasn’t really in charge was he? He got his poor daughter to do all the work while he took all the credit. I would feel some sympathy for her if I thought for a second she did it out of the kindness of her heart, but of course all she could see were the dollar signs coming to her once Roland pegged it.

It must have been the last straw for her when Sherry turned up, a lazy arsed, pissed up sister to share her inheritance with? She wasn’t gonna stand for that was she? Especially when Roland started giving Sherry handoutsâ€Ķâ€Ķ big handouts! Jen does all the work and Sherry gets all the bonuses?  I bet she was worried sick he would change his will to include his latest sprog.  Christ she must have been livid!. Livid enough to creep into his office while everyone was otherwise engaged in the games room.

Did she know about the bet? Mmmâ€Ķ..I’m not sure about that! Either she didn’t and thought she was finally gonna get her grubby mitts on the Sweaty Palms, or she did and thought sod it, at least this way Sherry doesn’t get to piss half of it up the wall. Besides, she knew she was safe financially, she must have heard the rumour that Tommy Dumb was gonna make an honest woman of herâ€Ķâ€Ķchrist, if a bloody croupier knew, the whole world knew! Tommy would buy her ten casinos if she played her cards right, and she played a blinder! Who would ever suspect quiet, unassuming, hardworking, grieving Jen?

I WOULD â€Ķâ€ĶTHAT’S WHO! YOU MURDERING BIATCH!

Well this has been difficult - I took bet's advice and got a fast track elocution course and now speak perfect Oxford Engleesh *flashes white teeth and strokes Camels paw carried around neck*
Well.... after much though t and becoming crosseyed reading the evidence  I have decided on Jen Ewynn for the following reasons:

1. I am suspicious of the'Meds' - I think they are required for something more serious than a 'pick me up'  for example something like schizophrenia which would distort thinking or bi- polar - I just wasn't satisfied with Jen's belated explanation. The illness could be serious enough for her to be unbalanced and commit murder through jealosy, feelings of inadequacy and anger.

2. Her relationship with her Father - she said it was good -  but seems to be based on all material stuff - but was it??? - was there a resentment about running the Casino - did she think if she got rid of her father - she would automatically inherit it - little knowing he had had  a  bet with me - so no inheritance.

3. The method of killing and the way it was thought  about and committed + the thoughts while committing it - were girly and immature - not sure about the significance of the chicken but was that related to revealing of her half sister sherry - did it signify cowardice because he didn't reveal she existed + it would again have affected inheritance of the Casino  - she thought  she would have to share it

4. The emergence of  a half sister also angered her and  Jen was annoyed with her father . -  she may have seething with resentment and hiding it which could lead to murder.

5. The dubious death of her 5th stepmother - was she also jealous of her??? - had he promised his wife the Casino?? - 22 is young to die in your sleep without a bit of help

6. No real alibi - she was just watching the show - she wasn't with anybody -she could easily have slipped out without anybody noticing

JEN EWYN IS THE MURDERER

Well I eeze not sure I eeze right

Hey there folks. I'm glad we're gonna get to the bottom of who killed my poor old daddy . You know, I been giving it a lot of thought and I think it's kinda too convenient for Harry that everyone is using his magic show as an alibi. I think Dwight was the better half of his show and losing him was one helluva blow.

It still don't sit right with me that he was supposed to be curing my daddy of smoking and instead asked him stupid questions about a killer rabbit what kind of weirdy old hynpotherapy treatment can that be? I ain't never heard of such a thing. And don't forget it was Harry's rubber chicken left at the scene of the crime. The only thing that don't add up is Harry performing while the horrible deed was committed.

Well we've all seen the show. He's on and off the stage like there ain't no tomorrow ain't he? He don't need to do no vanishing act when half the time he ain't even there. It only took about ten seconds from behind the curtain to dash to the office, stab my poor daddy in the heart then jump back on stage to finish off one of his stupid tricks.

Harry. It was Harry. He gone and murdered my poor old daddy
