You could do what I do: I have an alarm that goes off 5 minutes before the bus leaves. Of course, fat lot of good that does me when I'm in the middle of something else....

Went to a NYE party at a friend's house, where they also had birthday cake for me. 
So, I got to party, but there was none of that pesky cleaning-up to do afterwards!
