Edinburgh is coming to a standstill...and paying for the visit by the way,,,from our Council tax. It was in the news yesterday that because of his visit ,Edinburgh wont be putting on so much Christmas events, the lights are going off and Santa, s run has been cancelled. It may not mean so much to you, but so many disabled kids enjoy the event. Not sure why , at a time when we are all skint, home helps are being paid off, nurserys are closing blah blah ..we are paying nearly a million for this "event"...

As a lot of Polish now live in Edinburgh, i am sure they will enjoy it...but i do grudge my Council tax being paid to this event...when really its not needed , the security alone will come from the UK budget , so that will be more money coming from where, exactly??

The RC church is immensely rich...we unfortunately are not. If the Pontiff wants to visit...then let the Vatican flog a picture or two to fund it
