Oh well never mind.
How are you Baz?
I've been a bit busy last couple of days, unexpected days out.
I have my competitor to follow on the programme, he is called Rob, from Sheffield and I suspect gay. He has an allotment and seems like a decent sort.

They won't be popular then
You hot-footing it down there to help him defend his potatoes?
Only me then
Where's Cosi?
I am here
I've missed the show unfortunately.
Is anyone growing anything exciting this year? I had a fab crop of toms and little peppers out in Spain last summer. And a weedy looking tub of mint in the UK
Drat, I forgot to watch it. I'll get it on catch up and join you next week, EC.

Too late, it's a pre recorded programme occurring in the summer months

Hi Cosi.
It was about potatoes this time out.
They had a cooking challenge with them also. Worth a watch on catch-up.

Supadupa!
Enjoy Yogi.
I've caught up with the 1st episode now - what a nice mixed bunch of people. I particularly liked Lena, mainly because she lived on a houseboat and presumably this means she's limited for options/space..?
I struggled from the opening with Matt though. His scientific research is all very well but I prefer my contestants to go with their passions - nice as he was, his style of gardening was not for me
(I much prefer the spud tickling method ).
It's quite a challenging competition really - what happens if you're wonderful at growing things but utterly pants at cooking or displaying them..? I hope the quality of the produce grown & presented outweighs the knack of sticking a zinnia in a hanging basket or appealing to Thane Prince's taste buds.

I think that is the beauty of this programme, it's like a triathlon, multi disciplined qualities required.
Although, if you are pants at growing stuff, the rest is academic.
No guesses who I support Cosi. Rob from Sheffield.
I liked Rob too, EC He's the airline cabin crew bloke, yes?

Well, quite

I'm not sure what his job is Cosi. Will need to pay more attention next time.
Pay attention, EC!
So, are you going to follow their lead and grow spuds and zinnias this year?
I got a bit obsessive with my peonies last summer

Unfortunately I live in the penthouse suite top flat of a small building with no growing space, just communal areas.
Good luck with your green fingered adventures. How about growing and eating a few nasturtiums?
You've been watching too much Masterchef..!
You've been watching too much Masterchef..!
You are probably right.
All my kids live in apartments but are lucky enough to have (small) balconies. They all grow their own herbs - mint, basil and parsley mainly - and my daughter in law had a go at chillies with great success. The art with the herbs is to keep them standing in water. It works: pots of triffids!
You can grow them indoors too if there's no space outside

My balcony is a Juliet type, mainly to stop people falling out of the building
Truth be known, I'm looking to renovate and decorate my apartment this year and move on to pastures new. It may be another apartment - watch this space.
I have seen, heard and read about people who grow in challenging circumstances. Herbs seem to be a favourite. I used to have fresh basil growing to use in Italian dishes in the main.
There's room on there for some hanging baskets, EC
Good luck if and when you move - hope it's got a big 'Juliet'
PS, there seems to be loads of gardening programmes coming up. Check the tv listings as some are on during daytime tv
Bugger! - There's only me going to be watching this.
Sorry EC. I'll watch it on Catch Up and leave my musings.
I'm recording it; back later/anon
Oh dear, the cucumbers seem to have got one contestant in stiches... naughty girl.
Larkspur. Stick them in the fridge.
Sorry EC. I'll watch it on Catch Up and leave my musings.
Ditto
I'm used to it being just me now.
5 large pods of peas from seed.
Perfect pea challenge.
Darn pheasants are eating the peas!
They always seem to have really good weather on this show.
I watched last week's earlier today, here are my rambling musings.
I did not realise that they counted the peas inside the pod in show conditions.

I'm following Rob as he is from Sheffield
Did you like the fit of giggles the lady got over cucumbers?
The foodie woman looks very serious, but I think she knows her food tasting.
Good musing Yogi
Jojo - mad as a hatter!
