â€Ķ.says it all. He’s only gone on holiday.

Nigel Farage is to remain as UKIP leader after the party rejected his resignation.

Very pleased @Nigel_Farage still at the helm. As stated previously, I tried to persuade him to stay and was never actually appointed leader!

It is the first opportunity I've had since getting up to login.

It would appear that the exit polls were not too far out (see convo earlier Thursday eveing - glad I went to bed).

So the people of the country who are fed-up with DC & his party have, well, er, decided not to show him the door!

What happened?, the SNP votes aside, I'm currently seeing a sea of blue and a "+22" for seats gained and a total of 325 with 8 to declare.

The SNP won it for the Tories.  Labour were ahead in marginals throughout England but the spectre of the SNP militantly trying to syphon off monies and favours for Scotland with no regard for England was more than moderate English voters could bare.

The Scottish left thought it was so, so clever getting rid of the 'Red Tories' but failed to appreciate or even care that English moderate floating voters who were going to vote Labour were pushed in the opposite direction at the last minute.

The so-called Scottish left is the reason why we have a Tory government.  I hope they'll have the common decency to think about what they've done as the Tory parasites spend the next five years kicking the poorest.

Utter rubbish!  The reason you/we have a Tory government is because your English compatriots voted them in.

Er, there's both numerically and percentage-wise more Labour MPs in England than Scotland.  The SNP are responsible for the UK having a Tory government.

Scotland put on the blue and white Braveheart facepaint and went to the polls and got a Tory government.

What did they think would happen in England?  That the English be absolutely fine with the SNP testing a potential Labour government to destruction as part of its nationalist agenda?

If Scotland wanted to leave the union they should have had the bottle to do it when they were polled.  That would have brought down Cameron.  The Scottish electorate have become Cameron's best friend. Don't blame the Labour Party for Scotland's timid conservatism.

The Scots thought they were so clever and left wing getting rid of the 'Red Tories' well now they have the real Tories.

That's absolutely true EFFT!

However, outside the box, Murdoch has played a blinder with his puppetry. We fell for his lies and didn't get Labour in. You fell for his lies and got the SNP in but they don't have any power or influence. The Tories can do anything they want.

I don't like this comment Fluffers ... two well respected, well liked FMs have stated in here that they voted Tory and I don't it's fair of you, or anyone, to publicly call them stupid.

I know politics are an emotive subject but ...

Many English voters specifically said they were not voting Labour because they feared the SNP would test any Labour government to destruction as part of their agenda for Scottish independence.

The SNP came down to Westminster and started Tweating like teenagers on a school outing to see "Sunshine on Leith".  They couldn't believe their luck.

It's so banal, isn't it?  'aspiration' has become a code word that means doing nothing about social injustice and prizing power for its own sake.  Tristram wants to serve two masters, but you can't.

You summed up exactly how I felt about those pictures.   Cringeworthy.  I take comfort in the fact that at least I didn't help them get there.

No Rexi, I think maybe you're misunderstanding what I mean. I wasn't intending to suggest that everyone who voted for the conservatives was stupid. I'm sure that many of the voters for any of the parties voted for sound reasons'. I was responding to the suggestion that many people were pushed into voting conservative because of a possible 59 SNP MPs.

Brian May considers politics

Posted: Thursday 5 Feb 2015

QUEEN star BRIAN MAY is considering a political run as an independent candidate at the upcoming general election.

The guitarist's agent Phil Symes tells The Mirror newspaper the 67 year old is frustrated by "a system that he sees as failing the electorate" and he's hoping to "re-establish common decency in our lives, work and Parliament".

May previously expressed his political interests, stating he had grown disillusioned with politicians and adding, "I believe there are good people currently in Parliament, of all political colours, MPs (Members of Parliament) that deserve to be returned in the next election. But there's also many people in there dedicated to hanging on to old unfairnesses, powered by selfishness and vested interests, and this element is what needs to be thrown out with the dirty washing."

A staunch animal rights activist, May has tackled government policies against a badger cull and a bid to bring back fox hunting.

Piers Morgan with his bullshit anecdotal 'chats' with taxi drivers, barmen etc on aspiration on "This Week"

The only contact the likes of Piers Morgan have with the working class are those who drive them places and serve them food and drink.  Just a thought!  Maybe those taxi drivers and bar staff want a tip?

People like Morgan want a Labour Party that they can feel comfortable and self righteous about voting for, safe in the knowledge that Labour will do very little or nothing to roll back inequality.

I think the jury is out on that one. I would have preferred them to get no seats at all. Both of 'em in fact!

So would I, but only in the event of no one voting for them.

I hope to but I'm not a season ticket holder.  Despite being a NCFC 'super member', I couldn't get tickets for the Ipswich away nor home leg as they sold out within half an hour.  I'll definitely be there if I can get a ticket.  I think it will have to be an early morning queue outside the ticket office as the on line site just ground to a halt.

Mind you, I suppose it comes down to the individual's perception of sound reasons!

Who ever get where our media is coming from at anytime Dameee?

Moonie

That 10.4 million figure actually works out at 47k for each of the 218 MPs concerned and I believe that they have to turn over some of that for staff costs and so forth.

47k is nothing in pension terms. Most of us average workers in industry or local authorities would have received at least that sort of amount as a lump sum having built up pension pots of several hundred bags of sand.

it does stick in the craw though that the Tories have done everything they could to retain their pensions but attempted to ruin everyone else's jobs, contracts and pensions.
