At tea England are 123 for 3, a lead of 91.
Pietersen and Bell are both on 37.
The game is on a knife edge and the next session is critical.
Spot on! And fortunately England have come out on top.

Close of play with England 234 for 5. Bell is on 105 and Bresnan on 4.
England have a lead of 202 runs.
The new ball will be due in 6 overs so provided Bell can stay in for the first hour England will be favourite to win.
The new ball has been taken. The next hour could well decide the outcome of this match.
Bell clean bowled for 113. England 251 for 6.
Prior out next ball for a duck. England 251 for 7.
Harris is on a hat trick.
Broad survives Harris's next ball so no hat trick.
Bresnan is really enjoying himself with plenty of boundaries. Currently on 42 and England pass the 300 mark.
Bresnan out for 45. England 317 for 9 so a lead of 285. Bell reckons they need a lead of 300.
Anderson out for a duck and Swann the not out batsman on 30.
England finish on 330 with a lead of 298 so Australia need 299 runs to win.
Harris took 7 wickets in the second innings.
No play since the lunch break due to rain. Australia 11 for no wicket.
Australia are currently 97 without losing a wicket and it is starting to look as if they will win this one sometime tomorrow.
Warner out for 71
Australia 168 for 3 so need a further 131 runs to win.
Watson out for 2
Australia 179 for 6
They've lost 4 wickets for 11 runs and this match could be over today. If another wicket falls there is the option of claiming an extra half hour so they could be playing until 8 (though bad light could prevent that)
Harris out for 11
Australia 199 for 8. Still need another 100 runs with only 2 wickets left.
I think there will be complaints made against BBC for terminating the coverage on Radio 4 long wave at 7.00 pm without giving any warning at all. OK if you have digital radio or television to hand so you can switch to Radio 5 extra but for those where that's not the case.
Amazing bowling from Broad again this afternoon/evening.
To wrap things up, Lyon was out for 8 and Siddle for 23. Australia 224 all out with Bird the not out man on 1.
England won the match by 74 runs. Broad's bowling figures for the Australian first innings 5 wickets for 71 runs and the second innings 6 wickets for 50 runs. Needless to say he was man of the match.
England win the Ashes series. If they win the final Test it will be the first time they have won 4 Tests in an Ashes series at home.
England and Yorkshire pace bowler Tim Bresnan will miss the rest of the summer through injury.
The England and Wales Cricket Board said the player, 28, has a stress fracture in his lower back.
Bresnan has played in the last three Ashes Tests for England but will not feature in the fifth Test at The Oval.
The ECB added: "Bresnan will begin a recovery and rehabilitation programme and a date for his return to cricket will be determined in due course."
He later tweeted: "Really gutted to be missing the last test! Wishing the boys well for the Oval."
Bresnan missed the first Test of the Ashes series but came in for Steven Finn for the second Test.
The Yorkshire pace bowler then retained his place as Alastair Cook's side went on to win the Ashes.
Bresnan has taken 10 wickets in the three Tests he has featured in and averaged 25 with the bat.
England batsman Kevin Pietersen has had a scan on his right knee but is available to be selected for the fifth Ashes Test at The Oval on 21 August.
Australia won the toss in the fifth and final test of this series and they have decided to bat. Not surprising considering that the weather is good and the pitch will start wearing after the first couple of days.
However England have made an early breakthrough with Warner out for 6 leaving Australia 11 for 1.
Watson has reached the 50 runs mark. England's new caps Woakes and Kerrigan have started bowling but yet to make much impression.
At present Australia are in the ascendancy and doing well.
Rogers out for 23
Clarke out for 7
But Watson is having a good day and is scoring the majority of runs. He's currently on 104 with Australia 151 for 3.
It looks as if Australia have finally got a regular number 3 batsman.
Watson currently on 166, Smith on 54. Australia 267 for 3 and are on course for a very substantial first innings total.
The decision to give caps to Woakes and Kerrigan seems to have been a serious error. Woakes has bowled 15 overs with 0 wickets for 52 runs. That's OKish but Kerrigan has bowled 8 overs with 0 wickets for 53 runs. It may be that when the pitch wears he will have more impact but that's assuming that Australia will need a second innings.
England have taken the new ball so maybe they will get a breakthrough. They'll need it otherwise I can see Australia declaring for around 600 runs tomorrow afternoon.
Watson out for 176 brilliantly caught by Pietersen. Australia 289 for 4
Looks like No.3 is the correct position for Shane Watson!
Tough day in the field for England and I dread to think what score Australia will eventually close their first innings on.
Rain is delaying start of play today with Australia 307 for 4 (Smith on 66 and Siddle on 18 are the not out batsmen).
Although the rain is expected to clear it will be some time before play can start,
There is the risk of showers later today. Tomorrow is forecast to be better, Saturday looks as if there will be significant rain delays, and Sunday looks OK.
Faulkner out for 23 and Woakes gets his first test wicket.
Australia 422 for 7.
The radio commentators think that Australia are trying to get some quick runs before declaring.
Of the 2 England debutant bowlers Woakes has fair bowling figures - and has more maiden overs than any of the other bowlers. It is noteable that Kerrigan has bowled no overs today and with figures of 53 runs with no wickets off 8 overs has damaged his chances of being in future tests unless he does something spectacular when he comes to bat. He's scheduled to come in at number 10.
England closed on 32 for 0 wickets last evening.
The current weather forecast indicates that although there should be a full day's play today, there will be no play possible tomorrow, though Sunday should be dry. I think it is unrealistic to expect England to win, but provided they have an OK day today a draw would seem likely.
