Just realised it was on at 10am....I thought it was on at 2.15pm I will give it a try on Thursday, and report back
I think it is broadcast twice Baz - morning and afternoon.
I agree with every word you say about Kathy.
She sometimes causes me to make the odd remark to my radio!
You can listen to it here or else they're doing an omnibus version on Friday morning at 10.30.
Thanks Petercat Well I listened, but can't say I was impressed. If the first programme is anything to go by , it looks as if they are going to try and appeal to a younger audience, and I am wondering just how the producers are going to feed in what is going on in Ambridge Extra to the Archers
I wish someone would lock Will Grundy in a room and throw away the key What a twit he is. I listened to the second Ambridge Extra today.... and have decided it's not for me....
Hello Baz
I won't be following Ambridge Extra either.
As for Will - I used to like Will a lot - but that was a few years ago.
His unreasonableness today was...well....unreasonable. (Although I hope the writers don't get too daft in their desire to make Will unreasonable.)
I am so pleased that we generally have similar views about The Archers.

I wish they would give us the old Clarie back too Brisket I am fed up with her being so nasty... it is so out of character.... And how do you think they are going to filter what goes on in Ambridge Extra into the Archers? I much prefer storylines such as the forthcoming Gardeners Question Time... and would really like to see some humour returning to the programme, rather than all the doom and gloom!
I'm with you on all points Baz.
I just listened to the first Extra omnibus. I see what you mean about them trying to appeal to younger listeners, but it all seemed rather judgemental against the young to be honest. I'll give the second week a go just to see how it develops, even though it's a bit of a chore to listen without shouting as it stands.
I'll probably give it another try, just to be fair. But I don't feel hopeful.
I found myself thinking "Why?" "Why do it?"
Dan Ciotkowski, who plays Jamie in The Archers.
Oooo now I can.... and he is actually just like I imagined O/T I turned on Radio 7/4extra tonight, and got Wilfred Pickles in Have a GO.... expect you are to young to remember that
Sorry Baz.
I'll try to do it again.
Nooooooooooooooooooo.... I can see it now
I thought Caroline was quite restrained tonight But now it's the lovely Jill who seems to be having a personality transplant, being less than understanding about Kenton and Jolene, and getting tetchy about the backing etc......
I agree Baz. Oliver played a big part in preventing Caroline exploding last night, thank goodness.
And yes, I'm surprised they have suddenly made Jill rather mean-spirited - which she is normally most certainly not.

I was quite surprised that Oliver popped up again.... I thought he might have run off with Peggy But is he a different actor Brisket? I thought he sounded different....Do you know when the Gardeners Question Time episode will be broadcast? Oh and slightly O/T , I listened to Fortunes of War on 4 Extra... and really enjoyed it.......and they have just started the serialization of Howard's End....
As far as I know Baz, Michael Cochrane still plays Oliver. He sounded as usual to me.
I'm afraid I don't know when the Gardeners Question Time episode is being broadcast. Lack of concentration on my part probably.
I'm afraid I've been a little pre-occupied recently so I haven't given much time to Radio 4 Extra.
But I will.
LOL... Ok Brisket.... perhaps it was just me, it's been a while since he's been on there
Well I don't know if it's just me getting more used to it, but the Ambridge Extra omnibus seemd to have improved in this second week. Alice's student housemate makes me scream at the radio, though.
I didn't listen to it last week, but will give it another go this week.....but I still wonder how they are going to marry the two programmes together...
Just to be fair to it, I may give it another try.
I was listening to Gardeners Question Time today, and at the very end of the programme they mentioned visiting Ambridge. Unfortunately, I only had one ear open at the time so I missed exactly what they said.
I think the Gardeners are visiting Ambridge tomorrow night.

I missed GQT this week, but I thought I heard something being said on the Archers itself about Monday Brisket.. I think it was Linda...... but like you I was a bit distracted at the timeI have to say that the Will storyline is making me want to throw something at the radio at the moment What a miserable, bitter guy he is!!!
They said that there will be a special edition from Ambridge on Easter Sunday.
I agree about the Will storyline Baz.
Will has, in the past showed gumption and done some very positive things to further his career and place in life. I don't forget that. Yet - once again - the writers decide to invest him with new, immature characteristics because it suits their storyline.
I agree with you - I certainly think they have over-written and over-played that particular storyline. To the extent that I am no longer convinced by it because it is so petty.
Like you I am very frustrated with it, and wish we could have some sort of resolve.

Thanks very much Peter.

Yes... he was great in the George Barford storyline etc.... but since the Emma/Will/Ed debacle he seems to have gone right downhill! I think perhaps they should lock *Wulliam*..., Jaimie, and Kathy in a room and throw away the key....
Brilliant idea Baz
Thought you might like it Or perhaps we could arrange for another banner to need taking down! Or they could be picked up and wafted away by giant peregrine falcons.... or move their doom and gloom to Eastenders
You're so creative!!
I had to laugh at Joe tonight Let's have more of that and less of the miserable characters...
Joe must have been stewing inside fearing the humiliation.

Yes. Brisket..... I can't wait to hear the actual show on Sunday. Trust Vicky to put her foot in it about Roy.... and poor Caroline having to think of excuses why not to promote LInda
Yes Baz
I can almost hear the cogs whirring in Linda's brain whenever she is faced with an "incident".
We know her so well!

I heard those cogs too..... I think she is a good character... very multi-dimensional... although I am not sure I could put up with her in real life
It amused me greatly to see a letter in t'Grauniad about the Archers.
"Perhaps if they'd killed of Ruth instead of Nigel, the Archers would have stood a better chance of making it in the states!"
(Well, Brisket would get it)
