I've gone from years of disliking Helen to (recently) feeling sorry for her but now back to disliking her again.
She knows what Rob is like and how he poisoned her relationship with Ian yet she's dropping Kirsty in it now.
Helen is anorexic again isn't she ? I find her so frustrating...that she wont speak out but things hopefully are coming to a head....please, can't take much more evil Rob, just when you think he can't get any lower he does

I was listening to the omnibus edition this morning and was shrieking like a banshee at the wireless! Wake up and smell the bulls**t, Pat and Tony!!
Whatever Rob and Ursula's motive is, it's not going to end well for Helen and/or the baby, is it?
Loved the Radio 4 continuity chap's comment at the end' "Right, I'm going round to sort this out. Anyone coming with me?!"
It's horrible isn't it....how much longer do we have to endure this compelling and repelling storyline? The editor has moved on ...I wonder if its because he's trying to limit the backlash for himself.....give me the job...I will sort it out.....Tom, Kirsty and Johnny kidnap Rob and Tom turns him into sausages delivered to Ursula! Ha
Incidentally...i just found out this week, you probably already know that Simon Willliams plays Justin Elliot. AND Tony and Tom are father and son in real life....

I knew about Tony and Tom, Amythist, but thanks telling us about Simon Williams. Could recognise his voice but couldn't place it. I like him and Lilian together. We need a bit of light relief from the ghastly Rob and Ursula. I keep saying that I'm not going to listen any more until this saga is over but I can't help myself.
(I love your plans for Rob, by the way!)

I think the storyline is awful...especially now Ursula is in it and it's involved Henry I've turned off a couple of times Plus the character change in Pat and Tony has got ridiculous ..... Lots of people in the FB group I belong to...Ambridge Addicts ....are up in arms about it ...and some have just turned off . Apparently there was quite a backlash on Twitter on Friday .
Mrs Jer and I also listened to the Omnibus this morning whilst getting ready for and then during the car journey to my Mum's. We also shouted various obscenities at Ursula and also Helen's parents.
ION I re-sealed my mum's bath, shower and sink and she said it was the best Mothering Sunday present she'd ever had.

Aww bless her GJ Yes, I think we are all shouting at the radio/I player .....even those who once thought the SL was enlightening have balked at the latest scripts ....it's got totally unbelievable ....especially the way that Pat and Tony have just accepted things and not been round to check on her !!! Totally out of their characters !!!
We were also shouting at Tom n' Kirstie to forget their little differences (sic) and form a united front to save Helen!
We must get out more.

I note from The Archers FB page that a lot of the loyal followers are vexed and threatening to leave in droves. We find this particular plot fascinating in the terms of how it was set up and how it must surely unravel.

I've started switching off when that part of it comes on ....there is enough doom and gloom around without having to put up with it night after night on the Archers !! The SW have made their point about spousal abuse , time to wrap it up

Exactly ....too many character * changes* ......plus , reading the various forums tonight's apparently went way too far .....although I turned off once she started to complain about Ursula ....it was obvious what was going to happen Even the Beeb issued a helpline number !!!
We could not wait for the omnibus and listen on the player, hopefully this is the beginning of the end, or end of the beginning.

But at least it showed that he hasn't completely crushed her. There was just a spark of the old Helen there.

I think that the powers that be hadn't planned for the Rob\Helen saga to have lasted as long as it has. But because everyone has been talking about it, articles in newspapers etc, they have dragged it out, draining every last unpleasant drop out of it. But, like you, I just want it to end now.
I want the Archers to return to an everyday story of country folk again

Did you see BBC Breakfast where they explained that they had planned this to be a long running storyline to reflect real life abuse...the grooming of the family members and so on... Rob has already taken two years to get Pat onside and when things do come to light she will be utterly devastated and torture herself about how she fell for his lies....and whilst we think Pat is acting out of character, it often happens that those closest are fooled by the perpetrator.
I am coming around to the fact that it has done a lot of good in raising awareness about coercive behaviour...BUT I want it resolved and the flower and produce show to return as the main event
