Long term Archers fans will be interested in this announcment by the BBC:
One of the most dramatic plotlines in The Archers is to be the subject of a special BBC radio drama.
Dead Girls Tell No Tales tells the behind-the-scenes story of Grace Archer's death in a fire.
The BBC said the drama, which airs later this year on Radio 4, would depict "life in and around The Archers' production office and studio" in 1955.
The cast will feature Ysanne Churchman, the original Grace Archer, who is now 90 years old.
Churchman said: "It was a great pleasure to be invited back to The Archers to record this momentous piece of radio drama and revisit the excitement of September 1955. Looking back on those days, it was another life."
The world's longest running radio soap opera, The Archers is set in the fictional Midlands village of Ambridge.
Twenty million people tuned in to the episode in which Grace Archer died in her husband Phil's arms after she tried to rescue a horse from a stable fire.
It has been the subject of much debate whether the plotline was timed to thwart the launch night of ITV - the BBC's commercial rival.
"This is a really special occasion for anyone who has ever been a listener to The Archers," said the programme's current editor Sean O'Connor.
"We're going to reminisce about the very beginnings of this extraordinary programme - but also unearth the mysteries that surrounded this landmark moment.
"I'm particularly thrilled to welcome back Ysanne Churchman who created an iconic character and was at the very heart of a genuinely game-changing moment in media history."
Dead Girls Tell No Tales, written by Joanna Toye, will feature other characters from the early years of the programme, including Dan and Doris Archer, Carol Grey and John Tregorran, plus Archers creator Godfrey Baseley.
It will be broadcast on 19 September, almost 60 years to the day after the pivotal episode was originally aired.
I saw them promoting this on FB and I will definitely be tuning in

I agree on all counts ....and I think it will start with Henry 
But maybe he will open the joint bank account and then run away with all Peggy's ( and Helen/shop) cash .....
You could be right about Henry. Rob was very sharp with him in tonight's episode

It's annoying though ..the scriptwriters keep teasing us , like with the paternity , and he's still there 
I reckon he will blame the guy that supposedly went back to Hungary ....the one who knew he'd blocked the culvert ....for any discrepancies in the accounts etc .!
There was no come-back from when he attacked the hunt protester, either. I think characters like Rob keep people tuning in so they'll want to keep him in as long as possible before they bring him down.

Yes, that's my thinking too Madame ....I just want him to get his comeuppance before he manages to do any real damage ......cos I reckon he's only married Helen to get his hands on the Archers cash /farm !!
I don't like Helen that much but am starting to feel a bit sorry for her. Not sure what happened to her the other night but whatever it was seemed extremely unpleasant

I thought that she wanted to keep the pregnancy quiet because she was planning a termination (given the manner in which the baby was conceived).
His parents turning up would be good and I don't think we've heard the last of Jess, either. I think Helen will try and get in touch with her

Yes , there has been lots of speculation that she wanted a termination.....and can't say I blame her ....talk about marry in haste and repent at leisure !!! ,

We can but hope Madame ....on both counts !! I am not sure how much longer I can stand the Rob storyline .....my language when he is on would make a navvy blush !!! .
I'm wondering if Dr Locke can shed any light onto The Mystery of Rob's DNA storyline. Also, I can't see the producers getting rid of him anytime soon but it does make for some very unpleasant listening doesn't it?
As for Ruth; I'll wager she's met the Kiwi equivalent of Sam the Cowman and is enjoying a bit of antipodean hanky-panky

I know. It's as if the writers\producers have got all these different storylines in their heads and, like children with their Christmas presents, they just play with one for about five minutes, cast it aside and then move on to the next. Rob has a whole catalogue of stuff that he hasn't yet been brought to book for. Listening to his latest bit of skullduggery, when he told Ian about Adams indiscretion, I could almost imagine him laughing maniacally whilst twirling his moustache like a pantomime villain.
It's 'The Archers', Baz, but not as we know it!
