But it was his grandfather that bought it. Not Tom himself.

So ................................Tom is 31 years old - his grandfather bought him a computer when he was a kid .............................20 + years ago what other computers were available? The Amstrad was the first home computer wasn't it? My son is 31 - I bought him an Amstrad in 1987 ..............there was nothing else available.

Erm no my first computerwas a spectrum and the considered best at the time was the BBC or commodore for the more monied. Amstrad was always shit. Now that was the height of Amstrads powers after that time they only got more shit so im guessing tom is in his 20's and he would have had a choice of amiga, many PC's , atari amongst many others no really really bad.

ZX80 - 1980
ZX81 - 1981
Sinclair Spectrum - 1982
BBC - Early 80s too.

No, they were REAL computers. The BBC was used by many schools.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO the spectrum wasnt a consul it was actually more powerful than an amstrad the only good thing about the amstrad over a spectrum was the keyboard and they broke easier in the long term. BBC shat all over it and yes was a computer.

Yes, when I got married in 1986 my husband already had aCommadore 64 and had had it's forerunner, then we got an Amiga then moved onto PCs
Awwwwwww well - what do I know about computers (bugger all) Lord Sugar did alright out of the Amstrad though didn't he?

Depends how you view it he could have potentially been as big as apple, compaq, HP yea he did ok sinclair, BBC and commodore all failed despite being much better products and he only kept amstrad computers going by buying Viglen which was europes best direct sales PC at the time and then turned that to crap.
Great final show ,loved Dara, the panel .Delighted Tom was the winner a true gent.Glad that Susan will also be involved in future projects.Helen looked lovely and very relaxed,as for Jim ,still and always will be an eejit.
